Last year's schedule shows DCA closing at 6 pm on the Thursday night I'll be in DLR solo. As a baseball fan I'd like to take advantage of attending an Angels vs. Blue Jays game that evening after the park closes. Has anyone attended a game after a day in the park? Are tickets in high demand or can I walk-up and purchase a ticket at the gate? What are the resell (scalping) laws in CA? In TX you can't sell above face value on the street. Any different/unique ballpark food items worth trying?

Thanks so much for any advice you can give a Phillies fan living in Texas!

Go Phillies-2008 World Champs!

For a game against the Blue Jays you shouldn't have a problem getting a ticket from the Angels box office, but it might have been a different story if it were the Yankees, Red Sox, or Dodgers. I never buy from scalpers so can't address that. There's also the StubHub resale option on the Angels web site where you can buy tickets from season ticket holders who don't want to go to a particular game. That might be your best option for a good seat, although it rubs me the wrong way that StubHub takes a 25% cut plus fees. You can take a taxi each way since it's not too far. I'll also mention the OCTA #50 bus although that's not a great option for a late night return trip. As far as food, I like to get a bratwurst or italian sausage, but there are more adventurous options, such as the Knothole Club (http://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/ana/ballpark/guide.jsp#K), accessible if you've bought a 300-level seat. Beach Pit BBQ is really good too. (See Concessions on that same page.)

And congrats on the Phillies winning it all! I managed to attend game 7 of the Angels 2002 series win - there's nothing like it!

I agree. The Blue Jays are not popular, and it is a Thursday game. You shouldn't have a big problem getting tix.

Does anyone know when the Single Game tickets will go on sale? I can't find that infomation anywhere. Last year I think it was March 1st. We got Angels/Yankees tickets going through Ticketmaster. The mailed them to us out of state no problem.
Food: My vote has to be Garlic Fries! Yum

I don't know that much about Baseball (hockey fan, personally), so I can't really say anything about the stadium or the game.

However, under Californian Law, Scalping is generally permitted in the sense that you can resell transferable and resellable tickets, for whatever amount you want. At the same time, it's prohibited in the sense that you can't do so on the property of the event in question.

Thanks. I checked StubHub and after their fees the cost was more than face value. So I may wait until the day of the game to buy a ticket. I agree that the Blue Jays probably aren't going to be the biggest weeknight draw. They're giving away a free retro 80's cap that night, so a bonus souvenir!

March 7th 9am PT single game tickets go on sale. We were at the first spring training game yesterday. It was a blast, so glad baseball season has started again!

We have been to several games after going to the parks most of the day. We don't usually wait until after 6p to go though. We leave DLR around 5, grab a bite to eat, then head to the stadium.

I wouldn't even buy a single game ticket from the Angels directly. I will guarantee that you will get one cheaper than that--even if you bought on ebay. Remember, season ticket holders pay less than face value for each ticket, and they will sometimes ask for even less than what they paid.

Scalping is illegal outside of the stadium, but if you are trying to pay face value or less, it shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you so much! I couldn't find that date anywhere. I'm with you, winter is only to make you appreciate baseball season even more! :thumbsup2
