Hi!
Has anyone stayed here and had a good stay? How is the pool area? Is it within walking distance. It looks like it is on the map. Your thoughts?

It's a pretty long walk. When we stayed there we drove to the Mickey and Friends lot and took the tram. I think a shuttle also stopped at the restaurant next door it might've been the ART but I never checked since we were driving.

The pool was really far from our room so we never went in it but it seemed kind of smallish.

The bed was super nice and comfy and we had hardwood floors, and a separate TV room which worked out great for us because I stay up later than the rest of my family so I was able to watch TV while they slept!

Our only negative was that our upstairs neighbors were pretty noisy and they were banging around up there until about 1am.

We also fell in love with the Coco's restaurant across the street and had about 3 or 4 meals there during our stay.

That was the only time we've ever stayed off property so I'm not sure how that compares to other hotel/motels in the area.

We have since stayed at the DLH 3 times and we will probably not be going back to off site. We enjoy the Disney "immersion" and it was so unbelievably quiet every time we've been there and the pool is insane!!

But, if we did stay off property again we would contemplate the Anabella first, but only if we had transportation to the parks. Hope that helps!

I've stayed there twice, and have enjoyed the hotel both times.

We stayed in two different buildings, both near the front of the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and felt a little more upscale than many others around. My students loved the main pool. The first visit, we stayed near the adult pool, and that looked quiet and relaxing. And the landscaping is quite lovely.

The walk is longer than many of the hotels/motels on Harbor, but I don't consider it to be that bad at all. 15 minutes? Basically, you just walk down the right side of the Disneyland Drive until you get to the Grand Californian. Then, you go into the lobby and follow the signs to Downtown Disney/Disneyland. Once you're out into Downtown Disney, you just make your way to the bag check.

We would go back again if the price was right and my husband's ankle was better. I've been happy there, for sure!

We stayed there for the second time in December and liked it. We were in a suite that had a king bed and sofabed in one room and a daybed in the other room. Our room was on the ground floor, towards the back, and even had a nice little patio. It was quiet when we were there but have heard to make sure you don't have a room on the main road because the street noise and bus stop can get noisy. This trip, we decided to walk since the kids are older now (we drove to the parking lot and took the tram last time). The walk was not bad. There is a path lined with trees once you cross the main road to the main entry way of the Grand. We walked through the lobby and out the door to Downtown Disney. One night, we were in CA Adventure and used the Grand CA entrance/exit when leaving so it was a little shorter. When we stayed at the Grand, our room was in a different building than the main one, and walking from the Anabella was a little longer, than walking from our room at the Grand but not worth all of the extra money for having a place to sleep!

We stayed last February and really enjoyed it. We had a Casita Suite which is a room with a queen bed and a very small second room with a daybed--both with TVs. I would say it is important to ask for a renovated room. My only complaint was not enough drawers. We enjoyed the room's decor and hardwood style floors. It's layout is like a very large motel--so I am guessing that downstairs rooms are nosier and it is preferable to be towards the front of the motel as it is so big. I thought lobby and the pool area were lovely--even resort like. There is a bar outside if you want a cocktail and our breakfast was included and it was a pretty restaurant. The walk is only about 15 minutes (I like to walk and it felt fine-we walked back each day in the afternoon to relax) and it is much nicer than walking up Harbor and I liked the magic of walking through DTD to get to the main gates.

Yep, and the walk is gorgeous once you're across Katella. Just lovely.

We've had a good time at Anabella (3 stays? 4? so far). The grounds are beautiful, the pool is pretty, the people are nice.
