Wow -- they are slick. No where does it say Frozen or Disney so technically they can promote it (still sleazy though). What could get them though is the picture unless that's altered in some way.

Also, Tiana wasnt a Princess before the cartoon, nor was Belle or Ana and Elsa.

Yes, almost all the Disney Animation studio films are taken from existing stories.

It's a fairy tale titled "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen. Disney essentially remade it, giving it its own spin.

You are correct. Ana and Elsa are loosely based on the characters in the original story which have different names.

Unlike Snow White, Cinderella or Rapunzel, the fairytale names of the Ana and Elsa characters are not Ana and Elsa. Those are unique names to Disney's loose version of the The Snow Queen. I've seen Facebook ads for other rent-a-princess companies that picture Elsa and/or Ana as well. Nothing quite so blatant as holding a coronation party and utilizing obviously copyrighted images though.

Altering a pic doesn't get them off the hook. It actually violated that image copyright so they would get into bigger trouble!
