Mom had a bone scan and CT scan done. It looks like the cancer has NOT spread. Neither test showed anything. So the Dr thinks she needs radiation and probably chemo. :( She could probably get by on radiation and tomoxiphin and not chemo, but if the cancer has hidden in her body someplace else and it comes back later they will not be able to cure it. So mom is going ahead with all three, chemo, radiation, and tomox., in that order.

She went in already to get ready for the radiation and they had to tatoo her. They place little dots where they line up the machine so they can do it the same every time. I've been joking with her ever since. Once you get one, they say you can't stop......;)

Mom says she is not afraid of the chemo, and I believe her, she's not afraid of pain. But she is afraid and I don't seem to be able to make things better, all I can do is to be there for her. I'm a bit stunned still so I can't grasp the finer points of what is going on, all I can think is that mom will go through treatment and be all better. (Don't I sound like a 5yo?) At least that is what I want to believe. They said after her 1st bout she would have a 1% chance of it coming back. Now she might have a 50%. We have to hope she will be very lucky this time.

Sorry to ramble so, just need to get my thoughts down. Thank you all who prayed or thought about her. She's going to need that for awhile.:(

Sonya, I wish I had some big words of comfort for you, but I cannot seem to find anything "good enough" Just know that your mom is in my thoughts & prayers. I do hope that she will be lucky and she will be cancer free again very soon. {{{hugs}}}

Sonya its good news that it hasn't spread and that she is doing chemo anyway. Are you planning on going with her at all? My Mom had breast cancer and each child went with her once jsut so we would know what went on and after that she had a couple of friends take turns going with her. Find out what they say about water. When my Mom started it they told her to drink a lot of water, 10 glasses 8 to 10 oz. each. It made quite a difference when she started doing it. But check with them at the clinic since all chemo treatments are different. Good luck. I'll keeep you family in my prayers.

Your mom sounds like a very strong woman. {{hugs}}

Hey, why don't you go get matching tatoos.:)

Sonya - your Mom continues to be in my prayers. Stay strong for her. She sounds tough, though.

{{HUgs}}, my friend, Sonya. My prayers are going to continue for your mom. With the cancer not showing up, but the docs doing follow up, I think that is certainly a good, cautious approach. My best for you mom, Sonya.

I am sending good thought for your mom, Sonya. I am glad you are there for her to comfort her. :D

Best wishes and continuing good thoughts and prayers for your mom. It is good news that it hasn't spread. Hang in there.

Continuing to keep you and your Mom in my prayers Sonya. I am sure that your "being there" is the best thing your Mom could wish for right now. That IS doing something...but I know how you feel. Hang in there!

Sending more prayers Sonya.

I'll be praying for your mom just as long as she needs it. Take care of yourself, too. {{{{Hugs}}}}

{{{HUGS}}} for you, Sonya. :) It sounds as though she's in good spirits - that's so important, I think. :)

Thank you so much for the update!
