Mom had a bone scan and CT scan done. It looks like the cancer has NOT spread. Neither test showed anything. So the Dr thinks she needs radiation and probably chemo.
She could probably get by on radiation and tomoxiphin and not chemo, but if the cancer has hidden in her body someplace else and it comes back later they will not be able to cure it. So mom is going ahead with all three, chemo, radiation, and tomox., in that order.
She went in already to get ready for the radiation and they had to tatoo her. They place little dots where they line up the machine so they can do it the same every time. I've been joking with her ever since. Once you get one, they say you can't stop......
Mom says she is not afraid of the chemo, and I believe her, she's not afraid of pain. But she is afraid and I don't seem to be able to make things better, all I can do is to be there for her. I'm a bit stunned still so I can't grasp the finer points of what is going on, all I can think is that mom will go through treatment and be all better. (Don't I sound like a 5yo?) At least that is what I want to believe. They said after her 1st bout she would have a 1% chance of it coming back. Now she might have a 50%. We have to hope she will be very lucky this time.
Sorry to ramble so, just need to get my thoughts down. Thank you all who prayed or thought about her. She's going to need that for awhile.
