We got mugs on our trip in June. In using them for water at home, I've noticed an odd taste. First I thought it was my ice cubes...cleaned that out, made new...taste is still there. I use my mug everyday for water at work. Nothing else has changed but my water tastes odd........

Hmmm....

I know that plastic can alter the taste of liquids (oddly why when I drink diet coke--I prefer a plastic bottle to an aluminum can).

Perhaps that is what you are noticing?

Do you filter your water?

It's Disney Imagineering at it's best. Water only tastes good in it at Disney...so you must go back to Disney to use it :thumbsup2

Seriously, is there a leak between the layers, so when you drink you may be getting a bit of stale water that got inside the layers with washing? Gross, I know, but I had a coffee travel mug that this happened to.

This is Disney's new solution to people bringing their refillable mugs back on subsequent visits. Once you leave the property, the plastic gives off an odd taste whenever liquid is introduced. :idea:You wouldn't believe the cost of this new technology, but it stops anyone from getting free refills when they return!

ROFL :rotfl2:

Now I've noticed in another plastic mug too...we got a newdishwasher, maybe that's doing something to them...

My brother-in-law is the Art Director for the company that makes the mugs. This is too good not to pass along! I keep teasing him that I had to take a Celebrity Cruise to get one of his mugs, too.
