I sent the following to the VMK, and thought I would share it with you. I hope anyone else who feels similarly will also express their views.

To the VMK staff,
I write this letter on behalf of FlyThenFall and his status as a Community Leader.
From what I have seen of this young man, he is everything that a VMK Community Leader should be, and among the best of all the CL's that I have come across at the VMK. He is knowledgable about the game, always helpful and willing to share that knowledge, almost frighteningly mature beyond his years, polite both within the game and on the boards. He is hard-working and intelligent, and beyond that, multi-talented as well. From all that I've seen of him, he is a genuinely good person and an asset to the VMK.
The role of Community Leader is clearly one as a "role model" on VMK, and for that, I understand the reasoning that being banned should be grounds for removal of CL status.
I do NOT disagree or dispute any of the reasons why FlyThenFall was banned, although the VMK staff are aware that in the incident, he was attempting to help answer another player's question, unfortunately using words that are not permitted. He violated rules, but not the "spirit" of VMK guidelines.
But I do know that if the VMK Staff decide to enforce the rule that being banned is grounds for removal of Community Leader status, then the VMK is losing one of the best Community Leaders they have, and the VMK will be a poorer place for it.
I hope a compromise solution can be found. Thank you very much for your time.
