it occurred to me that while i have already jumped in and responded to some posts (not many though, as you can see), i have not formally introduced myself and i think that's just plain rude... 
anyway, i am a wife, mother and disney fan (and some other things too - but those are the most important)... i went to WDW a few times as a little kid - until high school when i decided i was far too cool! i rediscovered the magic when i met my (now) DH who had the good fortune of visiting relatives in florida every summer of his childhood - which meant a visit to WDW too... lucky guy!
our honeymoon was in WDW (though we stayed off-site) and we made a couple of trips after that... each time i was mentally planning our trips with our as-yet-unborn children... and as soon as our son was born, the lure of a trip grew stronger and stronger... but, by the time i got around to talking DH into it, we were expecting #2!
so, we had to wait another year but this june we took our first family trip to WDW!!! i even made the kids some shirts to commemorate the event... and some autograph books too, but truth be told - i got most of the autographs on their behalf... turns out, they did not like the characters much...
so, ever since we got home, i have been trying to figure out how to get back... unfortunately, work has a way of interfering with our fun! but i know my DH is, um, frugal, and he wants to get back there before DD turns 3 (so she's still free, of course!)... i'm pushing for spring 2008, but i'll go whenever!
so, that's an explanation of what has drawn me to the DISboards... i've been reading trip reports and helpful hints since april... i figured it's about time i join the fray...

It's not abnormal for young children to not 'like' the characters. As they grow up and become familiar with Disney that will probably change. Hopefully you'll make it to WDW in the spring....until then, have fun planning anyways
