An idea for the Adults Only pools on the Wish-class ships?

It's no secret that the adult pool/sundeck on the new ships is poorly designed. The infinity pool is tiny and makes access on the ladders a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The hot tub is in a terrible location and offers zero relaxation due to the noise pollution from the Aquamouse soundtrack every time a raft goes by. The port side is no better with the loading side of the Aquamouse soundtrack blaring into where the loungers are located. There is also no shade except at the Cove bar or what is created by the ship superstructure. The horseshoe layout feels disconnected and has no central area for some live entertainment. The smoking deck above sometimes makes the Cove bar area really unpleasant. The only positive feature is the view from the back of the ship.

I think a simple solution could be offered in Deck 14 forward. Make it an additional Adults Only pool deck! The Chip and Dales pool is not particularly busy and not frequented by much of anyone. The deck itself is isolated, and access could be restricted without any effort. The Currents bar is already there. The whole deck could be renamed to the Cove Retreat, or something like that. They could still keep open access to everyone on sail-away.

I totally agree! I truly believed after all the negative feedback on the Wish, they would do that with the Treasure (and Destiny), but no luck!

When I first saw the model of the Wish (in 1 Man's Dream in DHS) I thought that was weird they split up the adults pool areas, some forward, some aft. I just assumed what became the "Chip and Dale" pool, the side decks, and Currents bar would be adult only as that area is for adults on the Dream class ships. Finding out they weren't was a huge disappointment. Sailing on the Wish class ships with the adult pool areas as they are would prevent me from booking them again. Making that 14 forward area adult only would likely change my mind. Until then I will stick to the older ships.

I truly think if they were going to make that change they’d have done it with the Treasure (and then the Destiny). All it would have taken was adding a couple of signs to the existing layout.

I’ll chime in about this layout too! I’ve sailed on the 4 older ships and have always used and enjoyed the adults only pools and hot tubs, esp. on the Dream and Fantasy. I’ve sailed on the Wish and Treasure only to stay away from the adult pool and hot tub due to lack of space and shade. We will be sailing the Destiny in a few weeks. I’ll give it another try, third times a charm, right? We shall see. At least I can enjoy the open space and shade at the chip and dale pool area. It would be so easy to transform that area to adult only. Maybe during the first dry dock?? Maybe, just maybe. Disney Cruise Line, are you listening???????

That is why we have been avoiding the Wish class ships after sailing on the Wish. I spend the majority of my time sitting in a deck chair during the day and I was disappointed in the Wish adult pool area (Also where the adult lounges were honestly, I felt on display having a drink and listening to the piano in Nightingales)

I include this in every DCL survey. I don't even mind the adult pool area but this seems like such an easy thing to do I am truly perplexed as to why they haven't done it yet. I love the Wish class ships and we always find a chair in the adult pool area. The pool is crowded but we have always found that people are constantly leaving the pool so we have always found room. The hot tub doesn't overly bother us either since usually lots of other people are in there too so people are chatting and you don't focus on the soundtrack.

Maybe I am jaded by some very adult heavy cruises on the Fantasy when the adult area was unusable for the entire length of the cruise. The older ships are not always better. It really depends on each cruise and the make up of passengers.

I think the Chip and Dale pool is meant to be a pool for families who may have some sensory needs, no?

The footprint was already set for all the Triton Class ships. A drastic change like moving it would be a different class of ship.

This is the first suggestion about this I've heard. I don't think it is. I think it's just so hidden nobody knows it's there. It's def the place to hang out.

And while the ship is moving that adult infinity pool sloshes around like crazy. You just slide all over the place. It was poorly designed. The quiet cove pool is fine. I despise that they have a smoking area at all. I wish they would abolish it. The smallest fleet is the worst. You sit in the hot tub and just have cigar smoke in your face.

It might have been the intention but no signage and is often just as loud as the other pools. It sometimes needs to be closed due to wind. It is not a "quiet pool" as more and more cruisers have found it. I have a child with sensory needs but even I understand that this pool as it is does not serve either group and the adults really do need an additional spot. I fully support the idea of making this an adult only area.

When we visited on our last cruise, it most definitely wasn’t a sensory needs area. 2 small girls were playing hide and go seek, running all around at top speed yelling as loud as they could. The parents said not a word. We ended up having to leave to give our ears a break.

We agree this area needs to be adults only and have sent the email to DCL. The kids have multiple other pools to choose from and the current adult only pool is unusable for us due to lack of shade.

I can’t imagine them ever eliminating an OUTDOOR smoking area completely!! If they didn’t offer one at all then all that would lead to is a LOT more people smoking on their balconies!!

But why does it have to be above the adult only sundeck? Not all adults enjoy smelling smoke when they are trying to relax. There is already another one in the front of the ship close to the chip and dale pool.
