Cast of Characters: Me, my room-mates (Brian and Daniel)
Let me first off apologize as I won't be able to post pictures till I after I nget home as I left my camera cable there. I will try to update this everyday as I can.
We left Atlanta by 7am, and after a stop for gas and a run to the boarder for lunch in Lake City, FL, we arrived on property around 2pm. Our check in to the Kilimanjaro Club (Concierge Level) was a bit odd, as we were told we would be directed up to the lounge upon arrival and wouldn't have to go to the check in line. Well that didn't seem to be the case when we pulled up. No big deal. The desk staff checked us in and walked us up to the Club Level and to our room. We have a one bedroom. I am always the one on the couch/sleeper sofa, but I love the AK sofa as it is big enough to sleep on without having to acutally pull out the sleeper.
The Concierge staff hand delivered a gift for Daniel as he is celebrating his birthday from a few weeks ago. He got a birthday button, some chocolate, a carved wooden pen, and a journal made out of Elephant poo-poo (ew, but it looked so cool and eco-friendly).
Our view is pretty good, and we are over the Boma kitchens and the smell is GREAT!!!!!!. I have seen giraffe, Zebras, Ostrich, Ankole Cattle.
We connected the wireless airport so that we can all use our laptops (as I have to work while on vacation).
We have checked out the Lounge and I have to say that I am LOVE!!!!! with the African Smoothie, and the CM who is working the lounge named Brett. In fact he was holding a plate of cookies and I said "Lookin' Good". Of course I meant both him and the Cookies.... I wonder if I can get him to deliver some to my room.....
We are just relaxing in the room today. I am reading, napping, and texting while my room-mates are watching TV, after all they are the ones that usually drive as I don't know how to drive a stick shift. No jokes....I have heard them all.
At 5pm we went to the lounge (which is two doors down) for the Kisikusiku which means Twilight Offerings. LOVE the olives and manchego cheese. They have some appetizers from Boma, and some wine. LOVE free wine and olives
The wine is Indaba wine from South Africa. I am on my second glass. I tried the Shiraz first and now having the Merlot. I find the Merlot to be better. We tried to not fill up too much as we have an ADR for Boma later on this evening. Well that is all for now... I will try to update after dinner.... we might go to Downtown Disney, but I hope to be back here before 10pm as they have Rehema (Evening Indulgences) out and they have free cordials, which I hear includes Baily's Irish Creme.
