An elf, a suprise and a Christmas Do-over....Our Dec. 2010 PTR

Today we had Caleb's birthday party. He wanted a Toy Story party so that is what he had. He loves Woody so here is a picture of his cake:

It was our first cupcake cake (Payton picked it out) and it worked out GREAT!! Everyone commented on it.

Okay, so we held a suprise 50th Wedding Anniversary party for my in-laws yesterday and family came in from all over the country for the party. It was a wonderful day. My father-in-law even cried when he saw his brother that came up to Maine from Texas.

Here is a picture of the happy couple:

Here is a picture of Payton with her great grand-father, Pa-Pa Boston (he lives in Boston)

We were able to keep the suprise and it was a great party!!

Now to the awful thing that happened...On Friday, my sister-in-law and I were going to spend the day together shopping and cooking. She lives just down the street from us so we put our dogs in her outdoor pen together for some play time. The fence on the pen is 5 feet high, and somehow our chocolate lab, Blaze, pulled the fence in and climbed out and over. Her neighbor gave us a call and was able to keep him in her yard until about 2 minutes before we got there. Of course he was headed to the local ice cream shop which is where he went the last time he got free from our house. (Guess we should not have walked him up there for an ice cream)

Unfortunately, Blaze was struck by a car. We took him to the emergency animal hospital and he did not survive. His back was broken and he was paralyzed when we picked him up from the side of the road. My sister-in-law and I were able to stay with him until the end. My DH came home from work to help me tell the kids. As you can imagine they were devastated, especially my oldest son, as he and I picked Blaze out and they were so close.

It was a rough day, but we managed to finish up the shopping and cooking, although much later than we had planned. We all miss him terribly, and I swear I hear him at night.

Thank you! He was so funny and kept singing Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law yesterday, because he didn't understand what an Anniversary is. He was associating the party with his birthday and was just so cute!

Friday morning, mom and I purchased our airfare coming home!! YIPEE... It always makes the trip feel more realistic once the airfare is purchased. I am going to go online and add the information for Magic Express.

We got great rates both ways out of Portland, Maine.

Lucky you!!! We still can't find reasonable airfare out of Philly!!! Honestly, I think the issue is is that the last few years we have went to Disney, we got really good deals on airfare and it's making me what to hold off purchasing, but... I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get my airfare soon before it's too late! Time sure is flying!

We saw TS3 today and loved it!!! I laughed and then cried like a baby. Of course, DH thought that it was hysterical that another Disney movie made me cry. I cannot wait to see the movie again!! The theater broke out into applause at the end.

I just found your PTR!!! Are those old American Girl's next to the Elf? My DD loves them!

We will be there for a few days when you are there (Dec11-16th). I can't wait to plan with you! What a great job getting your LC ADR! That is the only one I can not get...hoping for the CP dinner package to come through!

to my PTR, Katie!! Yes, those are American Girl dolls next to the elf. My DD loves them as well and has 3 not including her Bitty Baby.

I did a little Christmas shopping for our trip today!! I found a great deal and will post an update with pictures when the kids are asleep this weekend. I need to take some pics without any chance of them seeing what I have.
