An Awesomely Awesome Fairy Tale Wedding - Oct 7th, 2011!

Very cool!! Expect another package around Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Bling bling! lol!

Yay!! I'm so excited! Next weekend I'm planning on getting together with my mother and my aunt to try on the whole package (shoes, dress, jewelry). I'm so excited I could burst!!!

So, it just dawned on me that we told the bakery here in MN that we would provide our own display for the cupcakes. They had this really ugly bulky wooden display thing that we just cringed at.

We were originally thinking just 4 silver platters (since we have 4 different flavors of cupcakes). However, I haven't purchased anything yet!!

We're planning on around 150 cupcakes, so we need to figure out a way to display them for our guests!

Any ideas on how to do this? We want something relatively nice looking (no bulky wood or cheap cardboard). If we can make it fit into our Disney themed reception, that would be even better!

Any ideas?!

Theres a good "how to" for a pretty personalized stand.

You could also put out an APB to your friends and family asking to borrow cake stands which, put together on a table in large numbers can look REALLY cool with all the different designs.

There's also this one ( I love Martha!) and you could personalize it by using disney wallpaper on the outside

So, FMIL comes through! :) She has 4 beautiful large silver platters for us to use for our cupcakes. So we are going to find 4 boxes of different heights, place them on the table, cover them with a large table cloth so it just looks like four different heights on the table, and then place the trays on top of that. I think it will look beautiful.

Yesterday Court and I went to the Minnesota State Fair, which is one of my favorite end of summer activities. It's awesome but totally hard to stick to a diet. They have every fried food imaginable on a stick! It's a blast. Anyway, we were walking through on of the vendor building when we came across a place that sells fake hair extensions and wiglets. I tried on one that can be shaped to look like a formal updo bun. Now, I have very little real hair on my own. My hair is very thin and very fine. It's a pain to try and do any updos with since there is just so little of it and it falls flat very easily. Since our EPCOT photo session is the day before our wedding, and I didn't want to spend money on another hair session. I picked up this little gem:

Also, I've had my earrings for awhile but just kept forgetting to take pictures of them. My ears are not pierced, so it can make earring shopping... well, interesting. However, I found this place that sells ear pins, they are like bobby pins that slide up your ear. These are the two earrings I'm trying to decide between. We're going to try them on with the dress and see which one works better:

Aww Janna sweetie, I love the hair thingy. It looks really good on you!!!
Both the ear pins look beautiful - what a super idea for girls without pierced ears!!

Janna, I love the hair idea and the earrings. very creative! I would never have known they weren't pierced if you hadn't mentioned it.

Thank you so much ladies! I really do think the hair thing will work out smashingly. DF says it matches my hair color perfectly.

I'm so excited for the 19th of Sept. My mother, one of my aunts, and myself are all getting together at my mother's house to try everything on and make final decisions on jewelry, ect. Any opportunity to wear my dress is very exciting! :)

Love the hair piece! I've been thinking of getting one myself, I have fine hair too. I hope you'll post pics of your dress and accessories trial run!

We just made our final payment to Disney!!! Wahoo!!! All paid up!!!

Not yet. I waited to post until today hoping it would come. I'll let you know as soon as it does!

Yay! Finally an update!

So, last night on of my Aunts (the one who is eloping while on vacation in Florida for my wedding), my mother, and I got together to play dress up. We tried on our dresses with all our accessories to see how it all goes together. I tired to get my mother to take as many pictures as she could, but my phone did not want to play nicely. So we got as many as we could before it actually crapped out on me (trip to the phone store today... stupid phone).

We started out with my dress for our EPCOT photo shoot and what I have decided to wear for our reception (I returned the other white one I had. I really needed to cut down on dresses for packing and I love this dress):

i know it's kinda blurry, but recognize the necklace roxysmum123?!

It's kinda far away to tell, but this is a different necklace

My mom tried her best, but my phone is a bit more complicated than she is used to.

Yet another necklace

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (this one got the most "yes" votes). It's kinda funny because we all looked at it before I put it on and thought it was away to sparkly and obnoxious.

Then we moved on the the bridal gown (and where my phone decided to quit).

This is the necklace my sister wore for her wedding. It also got the most "yes" votes.

roxysmum123's necklace (second runner up)!

In the end I think we decided on the sparkly and pearl necklace that my sister wore at her wedding and is letting me borrow with my pretty pearl earrings. The one that we absolutely adored for second runner up was the Stella & Dot necklace, but we feared it might be too little to be seen in photographs. However, it goes smashingly with my sundresses that I am wearing on my Honeymoon. I've totally fallen in love with it.

I have to admit that I'm still not happy with the way I look in my wedding dress. I wish I could lose another 20lbs in the next 3 weeks. The good news is that at my last fitting, the lady there laced up my dress and pulled it good and tight (in that way that only the ladies that have done this a million times can do). She said that when my mom laces it up, there should be around 4 inches of lace left. Last night when my mom laced it up good and tight, she said she had easily 6 - 8 inches of lace left. So, I must have lost some weight. I'm trying to convince myself that it was the lighting and background that make me not like the way I look. (It's not really working though.)

All in all, it was a fun night! Let me know what you ladies think! I always value outside opinions!

Agreed, the Stella and Dot isn't QUITE blingy enough. It's super cute though, and a good length for you.

Love all the top pics, they all get my vote too!!

Love both your dresses! Can't wait to see your wedding pics in a few weeks! I can't imagine how excited (and nervous) you must be.

In less than 5 days I will be on a plane... In less than 2 weeks, I'll be married...

Wahoo!!!!!
