You have to be the most generous apologist for the Bush administration -- like -- ever! Oh, God forbid they should know about what's going on with Katrina! I guess the maroon that was supposed to read that part of the paper to them that morning got stuck on the comics or something.

Oh of course, I forgot the talking points - it's all the Presidents fault, the Governor and Mayor were perfect. The rumor that the electricity was off in NO was just that, a rumor. FEMA was just sitting around watching soap operas all day.

C'mon! This isn't pioneer days! Couldn't they have figured out via, I don't know, carrier pigeon, or maybe telegram, or battery powered radios, how about those dogs that bring brandy to people stranded in the mountains.

How comforting to know that there are those of you who aren't concerned with a complete lack of government intelligence.

How about smoke signals? Native American drums?

I watched in interesting segment on CNN about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the government response. Believe this one or not, without any cell phones, email, internet, tv, cable tv, etc., the response was faster in 1906 that it was in 2005!

Then again, Teddy Roosevelt was in charge.

Yep...It's a shame that the Republicans in Congress won't allow that to happen.

It was my understanding that the first call for an investigation (officially) came from a senator from NY - and she only called for an investigation into the federal part. Appears she didn't want to know/acknowledge that a Democrat might have done something wrong.
