An all MK resort trip

We typically stay at Yacht Club, but almost all of our stays have been at the Crescent Lake resorts (BC, YC, BW, S&D) with the occasional one night stay at GF or AKL. My ideal stay would have been a split stay between an MK resort and an Epcot resort. I am looking forward to spending the whole trip in the MK area though as it’s my favorite park.

When the discounts recently came out I was able to get GF for two nights and Deluxe Studios at the new Polynesian Tower - no discounted rooms at any of the Epcot resorts were available for our dates at all. We’ve always wanted to try the Polynesian so we figured the new tower would be great (and the regular rooms were unavailable). We’re only going to MK once while at GF for an after hours night - I’m hoping the monorail and/or boats will be running when it’s over?

My other question is, when we move to the Polynesian, how’s the monorail going to Epcot with the transfer at the TTC? Does this take long? I also read you can walk to the TTC but that might take just as long as a transfer. We’ll probably take the boat to MK but wondering about the convenience to Epcot.

It's quicker to walk from Poly to the TTC. The walk is about 5 minutes from the main lobby at a leisure pace.

The resort monorail runs clockwise with stops at Poly-GF-MK-CR-TTC then back to Poly. It's longer to take the monorail even with the smoothest guests loading/unloading and no unscheduled pauses on the track.

I love the Epcot monorail. It enters the park before going back out to the drop off station. You get to see a partial aerial view of Epcot.

We’ve stayed at Contemporary for DAH, not GF, so we walked back. But I think the CMs were directing everyone to buses. The boats definitely weren’t running, I don’t think the monorail was either.

You can walk back to the GF as well as the CR now. It's a bit longer walk though.

In regards to your question about the monorail ride to Epcot, it does take a few extra minutes with the transfer and the time it spends going through Epcot. Totally worth it though, the trip around Epcot almost makes it feel like its just another ride in the park for a few minutes. Probably the best way you could start an Epcot day.

Are you saying that you booked a room in the new Island Tower at a discounted rate?

When I did an "excursion" to WDW from a different cruise line (it was a bus ride over), I had a little bit of time after my BFF and I had lunch at Disney Springs so I did just that - rode the monorail to Epcot and back to the TTC.

Yes, it was included in the recent winter discounts.
I wish I'd known. I didn't even bother to check when the discounts came out because I had heard it was excluded. There's nothing available for my dates now. I am stuck at rack rate :(

I was very surprised, honestly, but keep checking because I have seen rooms open up.

I recently found an AP discount on the Poly deluxe studio for my dates. It was not initially available.

Yes, exactly!

We got deluxe studios as well. I did recently see a one bedroom pop up discounted as well but we want two rooms.

We pushed a double stroller from tuvalu (circled below) to the TTC without a problem, it was MUCH easier than taking the monorail loop to transfer to the epcot monorail.
