An Air Marshal's View of Flight 327

I was horrified a week or two ago when I had read the "Terror in The Skies?" article from this website http://womenswallstreet.com/WWS/
Another DISer had posted a link to it and it sparked a lot debate (but then again, around here, what else is new?)

Now Time has an article wrtten by one of the federal air marshalls about his take on what happened.

I really don't know how I would have felt had I been on that flight but it is interesting to see another side to this story.

There was, the marshal admits, one incident that did concern him: when one of the group came from the back of the plane forward to use the lavatory in First Class. The FAM timed the man, dressed in a green jumpsuit with Arabic writing on it; he stayed about ten minutes in the toilet.

Maybe he ate the plane food?

"Bottom line," the FAM says, "there was never a time when my main partner or I felt there was an imminent threat to that airplane or the passengers."

I found it humorous that they did time one man's trip to the first class lavatory -- 10 minutes. Heck, I've seen people stay in the lavatories almost twice that time -- on multiple trips! My guess he had the fish instead of the chicken for dinner on the plane.

Bottom line -- someone finally came forward to hammer in the final nail on the coffin of Ms. Jacobsen's paranoid hysteria. It's about time.

Thanks for posting this. While it's possible that Annie Jacobson's fears may have made the situation seem much worse than it actually was, I have to admit that I would have probably felt just as panic-stricken.

I can completely understand how she must have felt. I have a friend who has a son that worked in one of the Twin Towers on 9/11. It was many, many hours before she knew if he was alive or dead. That fear is overwhelming and debilitating. I'm guessing that Annie Jacobson felt a degree of that fear while on her flight.
