I am ROTFLMBO....when I was a kid, I was raised with my cousin who was only 40 days younger than me. He went through a stage at about that age where he slept with the hat on, so it would stay flat even if the hat fell off....GROSS!!!!
I don't know if my 35 yo SO wears a hat because he's not happy with his hair or if he's afraid he'd blind somebody. Our 6 yo ds will wear one every now and then, but he hates how it messes up his hair.
You're awfully polite! I say "You stink! When's the last time you showered?" and, if 14yo DS even hesitates, I KNOW it's been over 24 hours/closer to 48!!
Oh Kim I can totally relate to the "When did you last shower question", sometimes my DS-13 hesitates so long I know he can't remember...........If you can't remember then it's been WAY TOO LONG!!
I almost passed out when my almost 12 yr old DS asked if he should take a shower last night. Usually we have to drag him in there kicking and screaming "I just took a shower the other day". He even started laying out clothes for school and asking me to IRON them. Must be the cute girls he told be about in choir.
My oldest DS (17) used to be the same way until he hit about 14. Then he started showering, geling, shaving applying deordorant. We knew it wasn't for us.
Yes, it must be the girls...during school year there is a lot of aftershaving and gel application. Doesn't see much of them in summer so why bother??!!
I have 4 boys-fortunately for me the 2 littles smell pretty good since they are 2.5 yrs and 5 months I still manage their bathing.
My oldest ds 15 yrs does indeed bath and use cologne--deodorant however could be questionablebut getting better since he now wants the girls to run after him and not away. My 12 yr old feels even 1 drop of water on his body constitutes a bath. I feel 2-3 more yrs and hopefully he too will want to smell really good for the girls.
