We woke up at 3:30 a.m. to get ready and head to the airport. There isn't much in this world that I would get up at 3:30 a.m. for, but Disney is one of those things. We left the house at 4:30 a.m. for the airport. We arrived at Chicago's Midway airport and parked the car. We walked to the terminal and we were able to do express check-in as we didn't have any baggage to check. This was Amy's idea..that we purchase two carry-on bags and pack lightly. We were only going to be there 4 days...no problem. It worked great! We arrived at our gate just as our flight was boarding. The flight was fine and we arrived in Orlando a little early. We had no baggage to claim so we went straight to the Mears Shuttle desk and purchased our tickets. $58.00 for two adult roundtrip shuttles to the Pop Century. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our shuttle and we arrived at the Pop Century at 11:30 a.m. We went straigt into the lobby to check-in. It took about 20 minutes of waiting in line just to get to the counter. I was a little shocked when we checked into the Pop in February the line was much longer and it moved much quicker than this one did...there just wasn't that many cast members working the counter this time. Anyway, we checked in and our requests were granted. We received a King bed room in the 50's section facing the pool. Lovely! Our room wasn't yet ready so we checked our luggage with luggage service and grabbed the next bus to the Magic Kingdom.
It is our tradition to always go to this park first and ride PoC....so we did this first! After Pirates we grabbed some tacos from the restaurant across from Poc. We then decided to take the monorail to the Poly and look for some pajamas I had seen when we were there in February. I should have just bought them then because they no longer had them in stock. Oh well! I had said I wouldn't spend money on extras this trip, didn't I?
We took another spin on the monorail, this time heading to Epcot. We arrived at Epcot and did some exploring...looking at the beautiful flowers and topiaries for the Flower & Garden show...I really loved the Tinkerbell topiary near the entrance. Next we sat by the fountain for a while and watched it. I really enjoy this fountain. We cooled off in Ice Station Cool for a few sips of soda. We realized our early morning was starting to catch up with us. We were tired! We decided to grab a fastpass for Test Track and then do stand by for Mission Space. The next fastpass time for Test Track was 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. No thanks! There was no way I was going to last that long today
So, a Mission to Space it was. I really enjoy this ride more everytime I ride it. I was totally relaxed this time because I knew what to expect and it was even better for me this time. Test Track stand by time was 90 minutes. No way I was doing that either! So, we meandered through MouseGear and Amy bought a new hat....hey what happened to no purchases?
We grabbed our bus back to Pop Century....that walk to the bus stop was brutal. I was really really tired! We found our room and our luggage was waiting in there for us. I unpacked for us while Amy ran to the food court to grab some dinner for us. I had chicken nuggets and Amy had a burger. I really don't remember eating...I just remember falling asleep!
