Another day at the Magic Kingdom. Can you ever get enough of this park? :p
We arrived at MK and waited at the gate and enjoyed the opening show. Scoop did not do the opening, but the Mayor of the Magic Kingdom opened the show. The Main Street dancers came out and sang. The train came chugging down the tracks and Mickey and assorted characters were waving to everyone. Once the park was "officially" opened we rode the horse drawn carriage down Main Street. Scoop jumped on the back of the carriage and rode along with us. Amy & I headed to Fantasyland. We rode the teacups, Pooh Bear and Cindy's
Carousel. Peter Pan was closed due to technical problems so we decided to come back for that later. We decided to jump over to Frontierland for Splash Mountain--it was closed and being painted. We were told it would re-open around 1:00 p.m. We looked at each other and wondered what else might be closed that wasn't scheduled to be closed? We laughed it off and decided to head to the Crystal Palace because our seating time was sneaking up on us. On the way we grabbed a quick ride on Aladdin's Flying Carpets; no one was in line, so we took advantage of that. We were seated after a 5 minute wait. I was notified immediately that the Chef would be out to see us to inquire about my dietary restrictions. Chef Douglas was great and the meal was excellent. I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and when I returned Amy informed me that Pooh Bear had been by our table already. She said she told Pooh that he just missed his number 1 fan. That would be me! A few minutes later Pooh appeared at our table and sat down next to me and gave me a big hug. We got some great photos! It was sweet that he came back! On the way out Pooh, Piglet & Eyeore were all by the door--we got a picture with all of them at the same time! Holy Cow!
After breakfast we went to Tomorrowland and rode Space Mountain twice. Next was a spin on Buzz-Amy won this time, darn! Then we took a leisurely ride on the TTA. We decided to head back to Fantasyland and see if Peter Pan was now running and it was, but now it had a 40 minute wait. We grabbed some fastpasses. The fastpass time was only a 30 minute wait. Why wait in line for 40 if you can stroll around and do some shopping and return in 30 minutes and barely wait in a line?
During this wait, we were shopping in Tinkerbell's Treasures and as we exited the shop we saw Peter Pan running towards the back of the castle. I yelled out, "It is Peter" and he waived as he ran up the back stairs of the castle (a cast member was stationed there to let him up the stairs which are ususally closed off). I realized he was heading up into the castle because the show was going on in the front of the castle. So, I yelled out, "Peter please save the castle!" He turned around again halfway up the stairs and showed us his muscles. Too cute! Our fastpass time had rolled around, so we rode Peter Pan. Next, we trekked over to Frontierland and rode BTMRR and Splash Mountain which was now open! Splash is the best! I love the music, the characters and of course the big drop!
It was time to head back to the resort for a break. Amy grabbed a Dole Whip on the way out. We rested at the resort and had a little nap. We had a quick bite at the food court and then headed to Downtown Disney. We spent too much money at the World of Disney...Thank God for that AP discount. Every little penny helps. After all of our shopping we went to Pleasure Island. We checked out all of the clubs, but our favorite was 8Trax. The dance floor was really hopping and we both enjoy the 70's and 80's music. We also enjoyed the cover rock band that was playing at the West End Stage. I believe they are called Kabang! They played some great rock songs, too. After a few beers it was already close to midnight so we decided to head back to the resort and get some sleep.

Next: Day 5/Epcot

Very interesting trip reports. I shall have to try writing one when I return, it sounds like you had a heavenly time there.

Thanks for the trip report. It sounds like you do WDW like Janet and I, moving from one favorite place or park to another, taking all the time we want to savor the experience. Congrats on the weight loss. I recently lost 45 lbs, and for me it was nice just to blend with the crowd. We love Kona and will try the burgers next time. We were upgraded to the Poly last trip, and it was a real joy. It definitely will be put it in our "weekend rotation" from DVC.
