Amtrak savings?

We'll be taking the train from Lancaster, PA to NYC in mid September. I'm looking for any discounts/promotions/coupons. They are having a sale on the Amtrak site, but it still will be $176 for the two of us. I still think that seems high. The AAA rate is even high. Any ideas of how to get my price down even more?

I think it's always high from lancaster. I just went from lancaster to pittsburgh for the 25% off rate. See if you can get a 25% rate to new york... but they're hard to come by. Sometimes we drive to philly and get the train from there to nyc because its cheaper.

Thanks, I checked out Philly to NY and it's only $10 cheaper. Not worth the hassle.
