Amtrak question

There's not a lot of room for carry-on luggage on the train. Is there a reason you don't want to check your luggage? We've travelled extensively on Amtrak's long distance trains and I can't imagine boarding with that much stuff. There really isn't any reason to carry on anything except what you will actually need while on the train.

The station that we're departing from only allows carry-on luggage (2 per person). Trust me, I'd rather check in my luggage!!

I have taken Amtrak several times to WDW. I love it. The latest my train has been was fourty five minutes. I travel from New York, and if you have a sleeper you can use the Acella lounge. I like the little roomette. I travel alone and find it comfortable. It may get a bit cozy with two people but you can go to the lounge car and stretch out and meet other passengers. My wacation starts as soon as I get on the train. I sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. I read, listen to music, and I'm thinking of getting a portable DVD player for my next trip. I arrive rested and relaxed in Orlando, and it is a short ride to the Disney resorts. Enjoy your upcoming trip. :goodvibes

Questions: We have to board at 3:30AM in a small town-waiting room/attendant /checked baggage hours are from 10:30AM-4:00AM. Would they remain open if the train is running behind schedule?

I would think so but just give your station a call to make sure. I can't imagine them locking you out of the station in what amounts to the middle of the night.

Our train has been known to be over an hour ahead of schedule. I know we need to be at the station 45 minutes to an hour ahead anyway, but if it's earlier than that will the train wait until it's scheduled departure time or will they just pull out if no one is there to board?

I don't believe they are allowed to leave until their scheduled departure time. Again, when you call them double check to verify.

Have a wonderful trip. :flower3:We are definitely overdue for a rail journey ourselves.

DH and I have travelled in a roomette numerous times. We're not small people by any means and we still find it comfortable. :thumbsup2
