I am trying to compare rates of all types of travel to get us 4 to WDW.
Has anyone ever taken AMTRAK-but not the auto train version. It looks like there are many many stops along the way-I am not sure if it is worth it because of that and time spent travelling-just wondering of others' experiences.
Thanks.

). Lots of leg room and the seats recline comfortably. If you are traveling with kids, you really need to think about ways to keep them occupied. The view out of the windows is rather bleak (backs of warehouses and such). Bring books, games, i-Pods, etc. and snacks.
We left from Washington DC and got off at Kissimmee, and from there got a taxi to our resort. We traveled in the sleeper cars both ways, so our meals were included in the price. There were stops along the way, but mostly during the night when we were alseep. Our train on the way down arrived on time, on our trip home we were picked up a little late, but we made up the time during the night and arrived in DC on time.
