Amtrak Codes??

Does anyone have any Amtrak discount codes? Over Christmas we have to travel from SC to Eastern PA, then over to Western PA and then back to SC. Basically, no discount airlines fly out of Charleston (very $$$) and I don't want to put that kind of strain on either of our cars, or our sanity So we were looking at Amtrak. I saw the AAA discount, but only I have AAA and it looks like you only get it for the individual who has it, not a group type thing. Does anyone have any other discount codes or other travel ideas? Thanks so much!!

I just checked Amtrak's weekly Fare Sale site, but they don't show any discounts earlier than January 4th.

I also looked at Greyhound's site and tried to figure a trip Charleston-Philadelphia-Pittsburgh-Charleston and you are looking at legs of about 20 hours, 7 hours, and 25 hours.

You might look into the rental of a luxury car, be comfortable, do the driving yourself, and if something happens the rental company will have the problem. Just be sure you can go out of state and what mileage limits are, as you are looking at close to 2000 miles.

WOW! Thanks so much for taking the time to look that up for me. I don't know what we're going to do. I thought about a rental car too. Maybe we can rent a car and drive from here to eastern PA, then Amtrak to western PA and then Amtrak back to eastern PA and then drive back to here. Ah Holidays!
