Looking at buying tickets to WDW/Universal...trying to decide whether to go with Undercover Tourist or AAA.

AAA has the 2 day base universal ticket for $113..Undercover Tourist is selling those for $123. I know that U.T. lists the final price including fees, but not sure about AAA. I'm not a member of AAA and so I can't go through the checkout process to find out what is added onto the ticket cost.

Anyone know how much they add for processing fees?

Each regional AAA operates under its own rules, so while one region might charge a fee, another will not. My local AAA doesn't charge a processing fee. Their tickets are cheaper than you can get at the gate but not cheaper than UT. I can pick them up at my local office or they can be shipped to me. If I elect to have them shipped, there is a cost added for that.

One thing to consider if you're staying offsite... some AAA offices have the Diamond Parking Pass. It doesn't get you free parking, but it gets you in a special section of the parking lot close to the front. Not a huge perk, but if you're looking at buying tickets anyway, it can be a nice feature. Also, our AAA tickets are hard plastic. I know most tickets now are on Tyvek, but ours are the hard plastic. I'm guessing our AAA office doesn't sell tickets that often...

I have the current AAA magazine in front of me: The only tickets they show for Universal are for the Mardi Gras celebrations, Saturday nights and select
nights, Feb. 11-May 4 : the 2-park powerpass @ $149.99 for adults, and the two-park annnual pass fior $192.99. They don't quote childrens' prices. These prices DO NOT INCLUDE TAXES, which are 6% in Oscelola Co.

I seems to me that if you buy the 2-park annual pass, it's good in both parks for a year. not just the Mardi Gras dates. The wording in the ad isn't very clear. I'd call AAA and get it straight from the horse's mouth. I personally don't care for Universal, so it's a moot point for me.

If you buy from AAA you need to add in the cost of membership. I have neber been charged a fee by my AAA office. Also the parking pass is for WDW and is usually given as a perk to buying a package. Unless you get lucky and the agent gives it to you (which has happened to me years ago).

Unless you have a family member who is willing to buy the tickets for you, if you're not a member then it's probably not worth it to sign up just to get the tickets. Even in the AAA offices you have to show your membership card to get the tickets and with the cost of membership it totally negates any savings over UT.

I wouldn't join AAA just so that I could get tickets for less than the gate price. There are plenty of places that don't require a membership in order to purchase discount tickets. There are a lot of other reasons to join AAA...roadside assistance comes to mind.

It depends on which AAA you belong to. AAA Southern New England gives the Diamond pass just buying tickets and not an entire package.

I think AAA is well worth it. Not just for WDW/Universal tickets but AAA also gets you discounts at many of the restaurants around Universal. You can also get discounted movie tickets etc. We utilize the discounts a lot and actually end up saving 3 times the cost of membership.

As you say...lots of reasons to join AAA.

OP - no fees are added if you pick up in person. If you want it shipped to you; it is $5. Again, that is AAA Southern New England, other clubs may have different rates. AAA was cheaper than UT by $20 for a family of 4 for the 2 day Universal park hopper tickets.

I never actually priced out Universal tickets thru AAA but I know my Disney tix came in cheaper thru UCT mousesavers link and universal tix were cheaper at costco ( membership warehouse club)

It could depend on the AAA club but mine were $20 cheaper for the 4 of us than the UT Mousesavers link.

It's been several years, but the AAA tickets were the best deal when we went to Universal. We were already AAA members, so that wasn't part of the cost for us.
