In regard to the $15 off $150 offer do you interpret this to mean only Best Buy gift cards are excluded but 3rd party cards are not?

"Excludes Best Buy Kiosks, Geek Squad services not purchased through Best Buy, Partstore.com, Best Buy for Business, Best Buy Business, Best Buy Education, Best Buy Ignite, a Best Buy Marketplace store at a third-party website, standalone Pacific Sales stores, and gift cards."

That is really poorly written. I think it could be interpreted either way.

To me it says all gift cards are excluded. Would love to hear results from anyone who is brave enough to try it on 3rd party cards.

It does not say Best Buy Gift Cards. It says gift cards. That means all gift cards. Technically your purchase should not trigger. But sometimes you'll find your purchase does end up triggering these types of offers. The catch is you need to try it and know that if it doesn't work you have no recourse because it's not supposed to work.

For more information on this sort of situation I recommend swinging over to the Gift Card thread here on the budget forum. There is wealth of knowledge about everything gc related over there...

I bought $150 of Disney gift cards and received the email stating that I used the offer.

No guarantees, but I have also successfully used AmEx Best Buy offers on (non-Best Buy) gift cards and gotten the credit.

When I used to live near a Marriott that sold gift cards, AmEx offers for Marriott worked on those also, although the wording specifically excluded them.

I purchased $150 in Disney gift cards (three $50 physical gift cards) online last week and the $15 Amex offer credited this week. One of the three cards was not activated and I tried to get the issue corrected through online chat and calling Best Buy customer service and they said I had to go to the store to fix the issue. They had trouble figuring out how to activate it at the store too and ultimately gave me a replacement card. I was happy to see the $15 credit but not sure it was worth the time involved.

Still waiting on my $15 credit… purchased April 9. I’ll post an update if I get credited.

My charge posted on 4/10 but no credit yet.

My $15 credit posted yesterday from my purchase on Sunday 4/16. $100 and $50 Disney gift cards purchased with Gold card.
