Amex Discount For H-D-D?

I just booked Hoop-De-Doo for a 5PM show in May. I read somewhere that if you are staying at a Disney hotel and pay for your HDD w/the American Express card, you get a 20% discount. Can anyone confirm this? We are staying at the Dolphin - does this qualify for the discount?

In the new Birnbaum book it states that they are no longer offering any AMEX discounts at WDW anymore.

I may be wrong, someone who's tried to use it recently may know otherwise. You could also call WDW-DINE and ask if it still applies.

I think the AMEX discounts are gone but they do affer AAA discounts. If you are a member I would call back now to request this.

I was told by a CM at Disney Dining that the discounts which can be applied to Hoop Dee Doo are Disney Club and AAA if they are available meaning there are limited discounts.

When we picked up our tickets to HDDR last week, the CM said that she had seen NO HDDR discounts for 2003. She double-checked on the screen before printing our tickets but said there were none available. We have AAA, DC, and APs but we were out of luck. We were attending the 5 pm show but she said this was the case for all shows at this point. Possibly it is still early in the year and the discounts will show up at a later point but as of last week there were no discounts to be had of any kind.

That said, the show was still worth the almost $100 it cost for our group of 3 (dd is under 3 and therefore free).

We did call CR and asked about the AAA discounts. CR said that the AAA discounts weren't in effect for 2003 and that they may be approved and will be available sometime before our trip in May. The suggestion was to continue to check on the discounts.
