Has anybody stayed there? We're looking into this hotel for our spring break trip & were wondering how it was...how close to the Universal parks & etc...

It's across from Universal's parking structure and walking is doable, but it's a little bit of a hike. I'd say about 15-20 mins. The hotel itself was nice. I got it through Priceline (thanks to Sheryl's board, www.biddingfortravel.com , ) for $25/nt. I registered with PrimeRewards (their frequent traveler program) and they sent me a membership card. Upon check-in, all of my requests were honored, e.g. extended room, two double beds, etc. The rooms themselves were nice with a microwave, small refrigerator, small sink, table and chairs, sofabed, TV and VCR. Nothing super fancy, but nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was average (a deluxe continental breakfast) and you may get tired of it after 4-5 days, but it's free and was always good for fresh fruit (if nothing else) on our way to Universal. The pool area was okay but never well-stocked with towels so my DH had to go and request towels each time we went to the pool. The pool also closed pretty early each night-- I think it was 10pm -- and a couple of nights we wanted to swim but it was already closed. All in all, it was a nice place for $25/nt. through Priceline but I wouldn't pay full price.
