We're goin 2 orlando in feb 2005 and were wondering if anybodys no's some american words which are different frae brittish words! please reply!

I'm not really sure....can you give some examples of words that are used specifically in Brittain?

I believe that the machine that moves people to different levels in a building is called a lift in England. Here in the States it's called an elevator.
Other than that, could we have examples of some British words that might be different here?

Some words I know are Different

we say chips and in Britain they are called crisps...and Our french fries are your chips!

well acually on menus it sometimes says like fish and chips and that means fish and french fries

i think that our apartments are called flats in England
our subways are called under grounds in England
our bathroom/restrooms i think are called a luo(SP?) in England and thats all i know

i think in britain a "bus" is called a "tube" and a "trunk" (like in a car) is called a "boot." but i'm not positive. i'm pretty sure that everything else is the same.
