UGH! What a HUGE disappointment!

Brendan and I are American Pie fanatics and were so excited about this movie. I don't want to divulge too many details in case you actually still see it (don't). But the jokes were SO LAME, the movie did not progress well, and about 90% of the movie centered around Stifler who was SO NOT FUNNY in this movie. I actually looked at Brendan and said "should we walk out and get our money back while we still can?"... but no, we kept hope it would get better... it didn't. I found this quote about the movie which pretty much sums it up:

"The first piece of Pie is so good, you have to have another. The second piece is okay, but by the time you get around to the third piece, it usually starts to make you a little sick."
-- Cherryl Dawson and Leigh Ann Palone, THEMOVIECHICKS.COM

You know I've never seen the first two, but since I teach in a HS I can quote from both! I had read horrible reviews of this and guess they are true. At least it can't be as bad as "Gigli"!
Robin M.

I went to see this movie last night, and the entire theater (me including) was laughing hysterically the entire time, which is more than I can say for the other two, though I did like them.

I'd like to know why they pay these critics anymore I like Gigli and American Wedding

I was laughing (along with the whole theater) through the whole movie. It was so funny, Stifler was great. I think I liked it the best out of the three.

It's hard to make anything3 turn out good, so it's not surprising. Just a matter of taste, I guess. I'd still rather see American Wedding than that stupid movie Gigli...

I'm game to see it,mostly because of Willow(Alyson Hannigan from Buffy) being in it

I thought it was really really funny. That scene with the "chocolate" was hysterical...almost cried from laughing. Thought it was the best of all three.

When I first clicked onto this thread I thought "oh no!"
But I'm glad to see others liked the movie as we LOVED the first two, and plan to go see this one Tuesday for my birthday. :)

WOW! I'm SO surprised so many people loved it! Don't get me wrong, there were SOME funny parts (especially the very begining) but overall I really thought the jokes were lame. The whole movie centered around Stifler who although funny in the first two, was a complete moron in this one. And they never bothered to explain why Oz, supposedly their best friend, wasn't there. I don't know, I just kinda feel jipped (sp?) that this was the last one. The first two were so freaking funny, Brendan and I are complete fanatics of the AP 1 & 2 and you have no idea how excited we were to see this 3rd one.... we read the reviews but didn't care because I don't think they critics liked the first 2 movies either... we feel completely let down by this movie.

Dh and I just went to see this yesterday. And we also thought this movie was great! We laughed through the whole movie, and we are also big fans of AP 1&2!

We loved the movie, lots of laughter from us as well.

I agree that Stifler got on my nerves, but I can get past that.

I think I may have to see it just because I saw the first two. Is this supposed to be the last one? Could you tell by the way the movie ended if there will be another??

ps- I still can't believe Meg Ryan is dating stiffler in real life!

Yeppers, she is a good one.

SSB liked, but did not love this one... there were some funny parts, without question. The beer helped, also. ;)

Ahhh... that's what was missing! LOL!

I just watched a commercial for AW and EVERY scene but 1 had Stifler... so I should have known better. LOL.

My DH and I saw this movie opening night. It was our first night out since the twins were born ( 8 months). We thought the movie was very funny. Yes, it was based around Stifler, but that worked for us. We have seen all 3 AP movies, and thought this one was as good as the others. Sorry Disneymoon04 that you didn't like it. I know the $ of the movie is ridiculous. When you do not like the movie, the cost leaves an even worse taste in your mouth.

In my opinion, if you have liked the other AP movies, you will find this one to be very entertaining also!

Well, DH and I did go see the movie on my birthday and although there were a few funny parts, we were disappointed with it. :(
Way too much Stifler too!! Can't recommend it.

Sorry you didn't like it, but.....Phew! I was beginning to think we were going crazy being the only ones who didn't like it.

I thought it was hilarious, funny parts all throughout the movie. The funniest parts were the opening scene at the restaurant, and when the Grandmother gets mad b/c Jim's fiance is not Jewish.
