american quarters for pressed penny mcahines

My duaghter really likes to do the pressed penny machines and I thought it would be a nice surprise for her if I could give her a few rolls of US quarters. So:

1: any banks in buffalo open after 7pm where I could go in to buy a few rolls of quarters the night before we fly out?

2: Any other suggestions of where we could buy rolls of US quarters before our trip?

3: will the machines take Canadian pennies so I do not have to buy a roll of US pennies?

Yes they take Canadian pennies,at least the one by Whispering Canyon does

To save yourself some worry, wait until you get down to Disney to get your change. My kids became obssessed with finding all the coin presses and we bought all our rolls of quarters either at the souvenier store in the hotel or at the front desk. We we never made to feel it was in an incovenience to them by any means.

And yes, they accept the CDN pennies & CDN quarters in the slot for pressing. The design actually comes out clearer on some of them if you use a CDN one depedning on which way you put in the slot.

Really - the hotel front desk will sell me 2 rolls of quarters? If this is true then it would save me a hassle.

fyi- incase you run out- as we did, several of the penny press machines have change machines beside them as well. splash mountain comes to mind. i hope when you get there many of them are fixed! in october it seemed every second one was broken. i was so sad...we couldnt fill our book. oh well this trip for sure!

Yup....we stayed at POP and *blush* I think we asked for a roller quarters from the gift shop on a daily basis. We were told only once that they didn't have any for us at that moment, but if we were to go over to the front desk they would be more then happy to help us out...and they were. They even gave us the $5 change (from the $30) in Disney bucks. Told us to hold on to it and if we didn't spend it while we were there to feel free and bring it back to change back into regular US funds.

And the Laundry centers have change machines as well.

American pennies are softer and will give a 'better' shape.

Older pennies are better as well.

this may sound wierd..but for perfect pressed pennies wash them in ketchup and it will clean them right up..and you can see the designs so much better after!!!

Just a note - US pennies press better - they are made with copper as opposed to Canadian pennies which are made with different metals. If you use Canadian pennies, they will often end up with black streaks through them.
