I didn't see the show but when I read Katie's comments about the "freak show" being gone I knew it had to be Vanessa!!!

Did they put them in order of votes? If so would someone mind posting who got the most/least, etc?

And did anyone perform tonight?

Thanks! Been busy watching Elizabeth Smart coverage so I didn't even care to turn the channel for A.I. tonight!

I'm pretty conservative in what I like to look at and didn't consider Vanessa freaky - I thought she carried off the look because of her spunk. There were others that deserved to go first IMO. I thought Charles and Corey deserved to be down on the hotseat too - I wonder if that's who Simon thought.

As a West Coast person I'll say please feel free to discuss the winners in a thread (just not in a thread title!). I'm sure I'm not the only one who just doesn't open the thread until after I've seen the show. The problems that happened in the past were when people posted things like "Apollo Anton won the race!" or "Can you believe Clay got voted off Survivor?" as a thread title.

I was hoping Julia would be gone last night too. Julia's face did not crack the rest of the show which I think is due to complete shock that she was even in the top two to get eliminated. Maybe they can get rid of her next week. Oh well, Vanessa seemed nice but I was getting a little tired of her.

Is there something going on between blond Kim and Clay? They always seem to be sitting beside each other and there just seems to be some sort of chemistry. I sorta' hope not.

I couldn't believe it was Vanessa and not Julia! Julia just rubs me the wrong way, I wanted her to be gone. Anyone else think it's kind of cruel to kick them off, then make them sing??? Vanessa handled herself so well, I couldn't help but think that if it was Julia who got booted, she wouldn't have been able to sing, because she would have been so upset.

I liked Vanessa and am sad to see her go. I thought she had great style, and while not the most talented of the bunch, certainly not the least.

I was VERY disappointed. I really liked Vanessa and thought that she was obviously more talented than Julia.

I can't help but think that they "set her up" with that scripted smart-aleck comment she made to Ryan before the commercial break. I think they knew it by the way it was received too - since they came back and immediately tried to explain that it had been scripted.

I was surprised - not in a good way.

I admit I was a little sad to see Vanessa go. I really liked her energy and spunk. She might have been trying too hard to be different, but there was something also sweet about her. I was so hoping that Julia was the one to be gone last night. Lemme tell you I was jumping up and down when they sent Kimberly L. back, I thought for sure Vanessa would be moving on as compared to Julia. Unfortunately that was not meant to be. Oh well there's always next week.

Vanessa's shtick was wearing thin on me, too, but I don't think she deserved to be voted off. I agree that that scripted line they gave her about Ryan being a "trained monkey" probably doomed her. That's a real shame. I was hoping Julia would go. Or Kimberly Locke (she has zero charisma).

I was thinking the same thing, lol!!

I think that Vanessa sang better last night than the other night, and although she wasn't my favorite, I would have preferred that someone else would have been gone, i.e. Julia, either of the Kims, Corey, or Charles. Heck, I even want to keep Carmen a little longer, she seems to improve each time, so I'd like to see more of what she can do.

I thought Vanessa was fun and was hoping it would be Julia or Kimberly L. voted off. Paula Abdul was on ET earlier and her pick for the person to be voted off was Julia.

And, TiggerPiglet, the reason Simon is promoting Kelly Clarkson's album is because this is the album that Kelly made because she was the winner of last year's show. It's the whole purpose of the competition - the winner receives a recording contract with Simon.

Exactly!! That's the whole point of this show, everyone knows that the winner will get a recording contract with Simon's company, I think he has every right to promote it, that's his job, jmo.

I was surprised that Vanessa was voted off--I would've much rather seen Julia get voted off. I was also surprised that Charles wasn't in the bottom 3. I hope next week Kimberly L. improves because I really think she has talent that needs to be seen. Perhaps next week's show will suit her voice better.

I don't know about Clay, but I think Ryan seems like he's stuck on her. There seems to be some chemistry there, I'm thinkin.

Does anyone have the ranking of the most to the least votes? Not the vote count itself, but how they ranked? I missed last night's show.

FOJMO - they don't rank them, they only tell you who were the bottom two and three vote getters. The bottom three were (highest to lowest) Kimberly Locke, Julia and Vanessa.

I too was disappointed to see Vanesa go. I think she handled the news with class and disagree that her shtick is a put on. I really believe that is who she is. I really hope Julia goes next week.

Do we know what the theme for next week will be?

I was really surprised to see that Vanessa and Julia were the 2 up to get the boot. I figured on a couple of other people, although I really don't care for Julia very much and would not hate to see her go. I do hate it about Vanessa though.

I was sorry to see Vanessa go. I would have liked to see her sing a couple of other styles of music. If she were to cut an album, I'd get out there and buy one. I like her voice.

Have you noticed that they must tell them where to sit? I have noticed ever since this one has started that they have the singers in a certain order. And you can always tell when it gets down to the last couple of ones who might go. They always save that news for last. So I knew way before they got to Kimberly and Carmen that one of them would be in the bottom three. Rarely do they skip around when telling who is going and who is staying. Has anyone else noticed this?

I said the same thing to DH last night, when they got to Cory, that it will go down to Kimberly or Carmen. I knew it wouldn't be Cory, because then they would not have needed to go on the last few. We figured they must assign their seats. I wonder if the contestants have figured it out yet??
