American Idol SUCKS!!!

I hate how everyone says it's such a terrible show. I find it entertaining. Just because you think it's bad doesn't mean that it really is. Everyone has their own opinion.


Sorry to be mean, I'm just tired of people saying that.

I agree! Season One was all about the music. It really was. And Kelly was just an amazing talent! But then once the producers saw how unbelievably popular it had become they just ran with it. And now, just like with every other form of entertainment out there, it's all about the money. The show doesn't care who can sing, they care about who, and what, will bring in the ratings. The only talented one this season, in my opinion, was Elliott. But they were able to package the other people in a way that gained them lots of fans. Then kicking off popular contestants, and leaving the one's who cause controversy on, cause people to talk and bring in the ratings. It's as simple as that!

The show is ruining the record industry which is why a lot of musicians hate it. Music is supposed to be about passion - writing your own music and lyrics and creating something of your own. The show makes people superstar's overnight with overproduced music completely written and created by some guy in a suit. That's not music!

American Idol really shouldn't be so limited to pop. If America wants rap, let us have rap. If we want pop, rock, alternative, whatever, let us have it. A lot of people are eliminated in the first auditions because they don't fit the "American Idol" mold. No genre limits. If they're good, let them in. Don't fix the results. LET US DECIDE FOR GOD'S SAKE!

I'm staying out of the politics of the show...I'd just like to say that I think that Chris, Katherine, and Elliot are all very talented...Taylor should get credit for being an entertainer. They are all good in their own right. I enjoy listening to Elliot's voice best...I think he sings beautifully and effortlessly. I am afraid, however, that he is too impressionable and will let all the fame go to his head...we'll have to see...

i heard somelike puff daddy was interested...like giving him a record deal! which is awesome. but i am kind of excited he got off now because he can take a deal that he can have his band too! and that would be really nice of him!

Not Puff Daddy, Fuel. Fuel's lead singer left the band a few months ago, and they've been doing a search for a new lead singer. Last night they offered Chris the job. Chris is under contract with AI, though, and has to go on tour with the Top 10 and then wait for the winner to put out a CD until he can do anything. So Fuel will be waiting a while for him!

I really like all 3 of them. Katherine has a very good voice but she is kinda boring. I love Elliot!! Great Voice Great Attitude Everything is good about him. Taylor omg! I love Taylor. Who cares if he has gray hair he has a great voice!!

I know. Thats why I never figured I'd make it on the show even if I wanted to. I'd go up there and sing like, Metallica or something.

Well...your right Munky. But still they do all the themes. To fit everybody. Chris rocked out with the metallica thing. Kelly Pickler did great with Country. So did Bucky. Taylor did excellent with all of it but he did great with Elvis. Elliot is the kind of classical kind of guy. And than Katherine. She did okay with Elvis but excellent with the love songs. So i think there is a different array of types of music they put in for the AI competiton.

the whole thing with chris going home just proves that american idol is really rigged.

when paula was crying i told my dad it was prolly cuz now she cudnt get with him like she did the other contestant a while back lol.

i think america is kinda stupid because they just vote based on looks at this time. Like in the first few rounds they vote on talent or favorites but now its looks...that isnt even fair because Katherine wasnt that good on elvis night and chris was better. I think everyone knew that Katherine should have gone home, even her cause when they said chris was going home she was like absolutely shocked. Chris should have won it all.

Has anyone heard what band he was offered to join or whatever?

I think Katharine is the worst singer there. And Elliot is very good, also Taylor. I wish Katharine went and not Chris. I'm just happy Kellie finally left.
