Well, I had a nice dinner..got home just in time for the final 2.

Looks like I didn't really miss all that much. Slow night here. I need to figure out the DVR though now that we finally have one.

Ha ha haa! Steven cracks me up! I hope I'm that nuts in my 60's. So many were from last years cut, I didn't realize. Emotionally, I hope it's the baritone/mama's boy...he was a mess, but such a nice guy. I wonder why 13 for the guys tho, instead of the girls?

Oh they had better bring back David. I honestly thought they'd put them both through and that would be the twist. But then it would only be fair to put 13 girls through. It always smacks of "deck stacking" when they make a special dispensation for one contestant. They may as well hold a flashing neon sign over that person's head that says "This is the one we want to win!" (Ala X-Factor and Melanie Amaro).

That said I am tickled pink and approve of ALL the guy choices for the top 24. The girls I'm meh about. I like a couple of them. We'll see. So far I'm all about REED.

At the auditions I kept waiting for the blonde British girl from last year to come back, I liked her. And then tonight, out of nowhere, there she is! I think her name is Hollie? I was so glad to see she made it this time!

Yes, Hollie. I think she might be Australian...I remember she was so scared last year, shaking from nerves. She is pretty good. I think this should be labled the return year for Idol, so many are ones who were cut from the top 40 in past years.

Eben is from my city! I cannot believe someone who went to my alma mater high school is on American Idol!!! CRAZY!!!

hey! i grew up in Goshen (literally, right around the corner on 132). my parents then moved to a house in Loveland while i was in college.

Eben is the student of one of my sister's former students. i was glad to see him get through. i still think he needs some work and maturing though. but so does Justin Beiber. anyway, he seems like a nice boy. i thought it was kind of cruel to do that to the two younger guys at the end. i know it's for drama, but they were just so young.

i really hope they don't bring back the wannabe cowboy. really, that would be a complete waste of "second chance" because i don't think America will vote for him. he's a jerk. and i don't think it's just the editing.

i think the guys seem stronger than the girls. again.

So I guess I stand alone on Team Jordan (I think that's his name; the guy with the deep voice who was devastated that he was eliminated). I thought he had a nice voice.

Didn't like the cowboy dude -- I think he was trying to cash in on Scotty McCreery.

I haven't watched Idol for the past two seasons. I didn't like anyone during Season 9 and I knew Scotty was going to win last season. I hope I find 11 intriguing enough to follow.

I think he's in pretty darned good shape for 63 years old.

But then I'm 54 myself so don't mind seeing an "aging guy" like that.

I like several of the ones in the top 24, hard to remember all their names just yet though.

I do hope they don't put the cowboy kid through to make 13 for the guys. I'd rather see the emotional mama's boy (he's so sweet) or the young boy that was with Eben when the judges gave them the news of who went through and who didn't.

Looking forward to hearing them all sing next week.

I agree with all of this. My favorite is Reed although I like all of the guys, meh on the girls and I hope the bring David back. He reminds me of a young Michael Jackson.

I'm glad someone agrees with me. I have this way of picking the quirky people no one else likes.

With that ... I don't like Reed. He's talented, but there's something about him that grates on my nerves. I thought he was overdoing it in the Las Vegas week group. Oddly though, I thought Eben did a great job in the same group.

There are plenty of performers who started out at Eben's age or younger and are still around today. Donny Osmond, Lee Ann Rimes, Usher (I think, don't quote me), Harry Connick, Jr., the Mousketeers -- Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Brittany Spears ... Tony Lucca (waits to be seen on another show). If you got the talent, age doesn't matter. I'm still on the fence about Justin Bieber, though. Not sure if he's talented or just cute.

They showed 4 guys last night and Fl boy was one of them...the others were David, the 17 year old MJ type, Richard the d-bag who gives cowboys a bad name, and Jordan , the big baritone dude who was a mess- worried about disappointing his mom/friends. I *think* Fl boy was in the top 40, I can't imagine they would put someone who wasn't in the 13th spot.
