It should and it shouldn't. Steven and J'Lo were brought in to help mentor the contestants. Offer fair criticism. Even when Simon was around, the other judges would offer some criticism. Some feed back to help the contestants improve. Lately, all I've seen is Steven and J'Lo not wanting to be the bearer of bad news. They want to go play the good guy and gal. By telling all the contestants they were good, or they've heard better from them and know they can do better; well that's not really helping them. They're not telling them where they need to improve is what I'm trying to get at I guess. Randy said it last night. He can sense he'll be alone a lot this year as the one that's not liking what he's hearing and be the only one to offer criticism. I agree with ShuisFan, I hope they improve in this area as the season goes on.

I have to agree with the opinions of JLo and Steven's judging. Your job, as the professional, is to help America choose who is best. They are not their parents, they don't have to always tell them they are awesome. As mean as Simon was, he was always honest and I appreciated that about him. Not only for saying someone stunk but for saying he was wrong when they improved or when he watched it back on tv. What good is it to just feed their egos? They need real critiques. It's a little absurd when their comments are things like, "Thank you for that song" or "We are honored to listen to you sing." Seriously?

I was enjoying this season until I heard JLO's and Steven's "Judging." Horrendous. I'm going to put it on mute until they move over to Randy as apparently he's the only who got the memo this season.

Steven and JLO both thought Tatynisa did well, Steven even loved it. I mean seriously??? Not even Paula would have liked that performance.

Uggh, I just realized that it's 2 hours tonight. I seriously don't get why they have to drag out results for 2 hours. I know it's for the drama, but they can still fit drama into half an hour.

Yea seriously. Some of those results are weird!

And it looks like all 14 that don't make it aren't coming back. It's only a select few.
