hmmmm. I'm torn.

I think I'd like to see who they'd replace Simon with. That would make the show new & refreshing again.

But I'd still watch if he stays.

I really don't enjoy the beginning of the show, when they purposely let some really bad or really dramatic people audition for the judges. Yes, some have made me laugh, but some are just SOOOO rediculous it's annoying.

Once they get to perform for the audience (top 32??) then I really get into it.

I am not worried. This time last year, we were reading about whether or not Paula would be back. It is getting the American Idol name out there, so everyone will have it on their mind the closer we get to January, without them over-hyping the season.

Bottom line, they need to give Simon what he wants. They probably will. Give him the signing rights, I am sure the kids going into this competition don't care who signs them, as long as they get signed!

There's a big difference between Paula's situation last year and Simon's situation this year -- a difference that could amount to tens of millions of dollars in all. Arguably, the show may have been better off without Paula; the show will almost surely be harmed, and could die, without Simon.
