no free shipping code that Im aware of. I bit the bullet and placed my order (large order for Christmas and Jan birthday....so large amount of s/h ) earlier this week, b/c the stress of waiting versus the probability of things selling out was too much stress for me!

You sound like me last weekend. My dd wanted the Mia Starter Set as her "only gift" so I just bit the bullet and ordered that, shipping and all. It was worth the $20 in shipping for no stress.

Bit the bullet and ordered the "must haves" for Christmas that I was afraid might sell out.(Mia and some of her things) If and when they come out with a free shipping code I just may have to place another order!

I am also putting some money aside for Oct 25th. Have to see if QVC has any deals like the Julie one.

They had Julie, Molly, Addy & Bitty Baby as special "sets". Julie, Molly & Addy were all around $130 including the doll, an extra outfit, an extra accessory and 2 books instead of one (I think Addy actually was slightly cheaper because she had one less thing than Julie & Molly). The bitty baby set included the doll, 3 outfits, and the highchair--for around $100. They must have sold out of all the sets because now when you search American Girl on their site it defaults to the program guide and the show scheduled for October 25th. My personal guess (no basis for this--just a guess) is that they'll offer some other similar configurations on the October show with different historical dolls than the Sept show. Hope that helps some.

We pretty much got everything we were worried about selling out. We bought Mia a few weeks ago for our dd when we were at the store. Thanks for the tip about QVC...I'll have to check that out on 10/25!

I'll keep checking for another week and then I'll have to pay for shipping. Guess I'll have to combine for Christmas and her birthday so I'll only have to pay for it once. There was a free shipping code in the Spring so I ordered Mia and her starter kit then. Now my DD doesn't want Mia for her birthday, she wants a today doll instead. Maybe she'll want Mia for Christmas... I hope so since she's sitting in my closet!

Has anyone bought an ag doll from ebay. There is two that I am watching right now. Both are the same doll and the jyl like my dd. It will be much lower if I can get one. Both are new in box.

Does everyone already know that Samantha is being archived? I can't remember when but I think in January AG won't be selling her anymore either permanently or for a long time. Same thing with Nellie.

In their place will be two new period characters, to be released later. If your DD wants either of those dolls or their accessories, grab them now. Also, you can expect the prices to rise on Ebay so if you resell, this might be your opportunity.

Well if she doesn't end up wanting her just sell Mia on ebay. I have one waiting to go when she sells out. I only wish I had done this with nicki. they go for at least double what you pay for them. I was kicking myself last year when I saw what some people were getting for Nicki and then I think...who pays that

Yes, I've bought a few dolls off ebay and I've gotten some good deals. I've also sold some on ebay and had people pay good prices for them. I do want to tell you that normally they start really bidding up at the end and many people use auctionsnipers or similar services to get them out from under you (I'm one of those people unfortunately but I rarely lose auctions now that I use the service...that .25 it costs me is worth it ) I got a JLY doll for a pretty good price but most of those dolls are from the MCM sale that takes place in early July. The dolls usually have an 'x' on their bottom since they were returns or whatever. never matters to me though Good luck I hope you get the dolls you are looking at!

When will the Kit movie come out on DVD? It seems to me that there was a code with the Molly movie last holiday season. Still on the fence about Mia but I think I'm going to skip getting her and just get the skating outfits for my DD's 4 other AG dolls. It seems like a fair compromise for my wallet.
