I am taking my 10 yr old DD to the American Girl Doll Place in NYC. I'm leaning towards the show/lunch package We are driving from MA. I would like to stay over one night if I can find a good rate on a room. . Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hotel info? Parking info? Thank you!

The only mid-town hotel I've stayed at is the Marquee Marriott. It's very nice, but very large!

I've been to the AG store! It's wonderful! Brittany really loved it! If she already has a doll, you can call for an appt to have her hair "styled" at the beauty shop.

My cousin took her two girls during the Christmas break from school for a surprise. I don't know the name of the place they stayed, but it provided beds and robes for the dolls they brought!! I'll call her and get the name if you would be interested. They also drove from MA...................P

pjlla...the hotel provided beds and robes? I would LOVE to know the name of that place if yo could get it...my 8yo DD suddenly woke up one day a few months ago a devotee of American girl...never interested before that now saves all her allowance for new STUFF !!!

Nicsmom,

I t ook my daughter there in Nov. It was great! I highly recommend the show! It's really cute especially if they've read the books. The lunch was ok. They had pizza for the girls but the entres for adults were a little weird such as quiche. The appetizers and desserts were great though.(they came with the meal) Go as early as you can in the morning. we got her dolls hair styled with no wating at 9:00 and by noon there was a long line.By the time we left around 3 the place was wall to wall people. Have fun!

Thanks for all the replies. I would love to know the name of the hotel with the doll beds and robes. Too cute!

I'm taking my girls in April and we have dinner reservations. They are so excited. I also would love the name of the hotel that provides for the dolls. I have a room reserved at the Plaza for the Madeline package but would gladly switch.

We were just there a few weeks ago. We stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria, which is only two blocks away. Not sure if that's the hotel with the doll beds and robes, because we were in NYC for another reason, and the AG Place trip was kind of an afterthought.

Be sure to check about the show....it's not offered every day of the week. We went on a Monday, so no show, but there also were no crowds at all. The cafe is adorable....the dolls sit at the table with you in their very own sassy seats. I thought the food was good!

I made our hotel reservations through Priceline, and got the Waldorf for $120 per night! I love Priceline!

pjlla...I would also like to know the name of the hotel that provided beds and robes? I am thinking of planning a trip for my 10 year old DD's birthday.

Thanks in advance.
