I am a little upset, DD received Kit last Christmas and I have to say she takes VERY good care of her (and her other 2 dolls). I'm not sure how it could have happened, maybe she dropped her :confused3 but her eye is messed up, DD actually said "She looks like big Baby". It looks like she is crossed eye and it definatley was detached from whatever it is that keeps them attached lol. She's only had the doll for not even a year yet and now I have to pay $24 and shipping for a new eye? And how long does it usually take to get the doll back?
Anyone have this problem only a year after it was purchased, you would think there would be some kind of warranty on these things lol.

Well it's worth it based on the price of the doll overall.

So are they repairing the eye or is it a whole new head?

Remember that you also get her back in a hospital gown, id bracelet and a bandaid sticker(it's actually pretty cute-my friend's daughter's doll was eaten by the dog- she needed a new head)

My daughter's dolls have never had issues that needed repair. How old is your daughter? My daughter didn't really start with american girl until she was 8.

between my 2 daughters, sister in law , 2 neices and mother, we have 14 dolls. We have never had any problems. The oldest doll is 15 years old.

She'll be 6 in January. I don't think it needs a new head, unless there's no way to repair the eye, but it says on the hospital form "eye replacement" so I assume maybe there's a way?
Just a little surprised, DD isn't rough on any of her toys, and is especially careful w/ the dolls, we had a long discussion last year around this time that if she really wanted the doll from Santa that there was to be "no crayons, markers, pens, food, etc around the dolls, no cutting the hair so forth and so on", just bummed I guess.

When my daughter's Kit doll needed repair I included a polite but disappointed letter stating why I did feel the repair should have been needed due to her good care. When they returned Kit (They ended up giving us a new doll in hospital apparel) they also returned my check and apologized for our inconvenience. I was very happy.

Thanks, maybe I will do the same. I mean if we had the doll for a few years and it went thru rough play then thats a different story, and after $95 for the doll and all the accessories and stuff that goes into it :scared1:
Thanks though for the advice.
