Has anyone been to the American Girl Boutique and Bistro in Atlanta? I've planned a trip for my 2 DDs and I to go next weekend. I've booked the AG deluxe package at the Marriott, so the dolls will have beds and the dolls and girls will get matching robes at the hotel. We are so excited and I'd love to hear any experiences!!

We've had a rough few months and we need a little pick-me-up. My youngest DD has been diagnosed with hearing loss and she's getting her hearing aids next week. She's been playing with her sister's AG doll saying that she has trouble hearing and is getting hearing aids too. I decided that it was the perfect time for her to get her own doll and our audiologist is going to have hearing aids for the doll for her.

Any info is appreciated!!!

Very interested in hearing responses to this.

I actually live about 15 minutes from North Point Mall (where the AG store is) but have only walked through that store once. I think that my DD is still a little too young to actually appreciate those dolls. She loooooves baby dolls but I am waiting a little longer on those.

Hope you have a great time.

Just in case you didn't know, this mall has a carousel upstairs at the food court, little .75 cent rides in front of Sear downstairs and a soft play place in front of Belk & Dillards. And also a Disney Store!

Thanks for the info on the mall! Are there any restaurants that you would recommend that are in that area? Nothing super fancy as it will be just the girls and me. Dad is staying home for this one!! We're going to try to do the aquarium too. Have you visited?

Thanks again!

The Boutique is cute, nowhere near on par with the AG Places though. They do have all the dolls on display and lots of stuff for sale. We were there last Sept. for my dd6's birthday. We had lunch in the Bistro, if you want to do that make sure you have reservations. The dolls get a seat and menu too! You can also just get an ice cream creation at the counter, I don't think they take ressies for that.

The Aquarium is very nice, usually very crowded. You may want to get tickets ahead for it as well, they will issue you an entrance time. Just like Disney, the earlier the better. It gets jam packed by lunch time. Parking is $10 or so, but there is usually plenty around on the weekends. The new World of Coke is right there too (haven't been to it yet) and Centennial Park with the fountains is right across the street. Sounds like you will have a really fun girls' weekend out! Enjoy your princesses!

I'll check out the aquarium tickets online. Thanks for the heads up! We do have reservations for lunch at the bistro. I figured that it wouldn't be on par with the AG Places, but since we're fairly close (closer than NY!) and the girls won't know any different, it was a good alternative. I'm waiting on NY for another year or 2. My oldest DD loves theater, so we'll do a big combo trip for that.

Thanks again for the info!!!

We just took my cousin there for her 10th Birthday and did one of the parties for the dolls birthdays that the Bistro gives and it was really fun and exciting and I am 35. My 60 year old mother had just as much fun as the 10 year old.

The food was great.

The Disney Store in that mall is nothing to brag about, but worth it to get a Disney fix.

My DD is 7 and we've visited the Atlanta AG store 3 times. She has enjoyed seeing all the dolls and clothes each time we've visited. We ate at the Bistro the last time and really enjoyed the food. Her 2 brothers even enjoyed lunch! The first visit we had her AG doll's hair fixed in the "salon". A neat experience, but kinda costly! We were able to visit during the week, Wednesday I believe, and it was nearly empty. That was in February so since school is out now it might be busier during the week. There's a great food court upstairs and sit-down restaurants around the mall. My favorite place to visit is the Apple store, right down from the AG store!

Hope you all enjoy the visit. It's a great mall and the aquarium is wonderful, too!

Thanks for all the great information and feedback. I'm glad to hear the positive experiences!

There are all kinds of restaurants around there. Obviously there is the food court upstairs at the mall but right outside (all within about a 1-2 mile area of the mall) there is a Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, Ruby Tuesday, TGIFridays, Fudrucker's, Joe's Crab Shack, Chili's, Steak n Shake, Golden Corral, Sweet Tomato, Chuck E Cheese, Famous Dave's, and probably some more that I can't even think of right now.

The aquarium is nice but stays pretty crowded. The earlier in the day, the better. And like someone else mentioned right down from the aquarium is Centenniel Olympic Park and it is a lot of fun, especially right now in the heat. It has the fountains and kids go out there in their swimsuits and my kids love doing that. On the same grounds are some really nice playgrounds as well.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask, if I don't know the answer -- I'm sure I know someone that does.
