This is just a heads-up for everyone with American Airlines reservations. I checked by Christmas travel reservations to Disney and found that due to the massive flight changes they moved me from an 8:00 AM flight to a 5:00 PM flight. They did change it for me but I would hate for someone to wait until the last minute and not be able to get this done. I'm going to keep checking up on them.

American laid off over 3,000 flight attendants recently. That will require some adjustment of the flight schedule.

I would keep checking. I know that there is at least one normally scheduled revision in the next 6 months. (the airlines usually review their schedules quarterly, but lately... who knows!)

They did this to us last year. We booked in June for a November flight and they changed our flight 5 or 6 times without letting us know. We were flying with young children and everytime they changed the flight or flight time we all lost our seats together. They finally stopped changing times about 5-6 weeks before we left! Keep an eye on your flights.

Yes, airlines change their schedules and they will NOT tell you. Especially to people who only fly once per year. So it is a good idea to check with them from time to time.

Just be cognizant of the fact that if you are intending to take all your worldly belongings inside the cabin to place them in the overhead bin of a Fokker 100 airplane, the Coalition of Road Warriors Against Mindless Coach Mongers will judiciously expedite their removal, as well as yours!!!!!

Oh Humbert can I join your group? I am always amazed by what people consider carryon.

Of course on my last flight a woman tried to pass off a kid who turned out to be 5 as a lap child. And how do we know he was five? The agent leaned down and said to the little boy "how old are you?" FOILED!

Carol what did they make her do... Just curious. Did she have to buy a seat or did they make her get off.

They told her that she would have to buy the child a full fare seat. They were nice but polite. They also explained that the flight was full and she would be in the last boarding group! (SW) She handed the child to her husband and got on the plane. I don't have a clue what that was all about!

Of course this was the same tour where a woman with a C pass camped out at the front of the A line for 45 minutes. We know she sat there for 45 minutes because she YELLED it at the gate agent when he refused to let her board with the C pass. He sent her to the back of the C line. She was kind of trying to act like she did not understand the system, but I don't buy it. We were in Orlando where they have the letters at the boarding areas and they had made several announcements.

CarolA:

Thank you for wanting to support the efforts of many traveller worldwide on reducing carry-on mishaps.

I average 125,000 miles per year and it just drives me nuts when so many people think the overhead bin has the volumetric proportions of a 40 foot ocean container.

Just when you think you've seen everything, there's always someone trying something new.

It is amazing to me how this lady thinks she'll pass a 5 year old as a lap child. Good for the airline and the FA who chaught her in the act and made her buy a ticket!!!
