Is there still a discount with an American Express card? If so, will it also work with a discount code?

The discounts that American Express used to offer on shopping and dinner shows at WDW are over. Disney has signed on with Visa and are offering a Disney Visa card. American Express is no longer a partner.

Good, cuz I like Visa better (lol actually all my ccs are Visas)

There are no automatic discounts just by using a VISA. If you have a Disney VISA then you receive reward dollars to use towards anything Disney.
