American Experience?

The last time we were there my DS was 5 and he really liked it and months later when we would see something on TV like on the history channel he would remember it was in the Disney show in the "Philadelphia building" It made a very lasting impression on him.

I enjoy the show and we see it just about every time we go. Hyper-nationalistic folks and people who can't deal with reality might not enjoy it, since it does point out some of the darker issues our country has dealt with. Like another poster pointed out, it deals with those issues by focusing on what leaders did to correct them.

I have NEVER seen this and din't even realize it was an animatronics show! I suppose I cant consider myself a total expert anymore :rotfl: Sounds great- Im glad someone brought this up b/c now I HAVE to see it in August. I  love  the hall of Presidents.

The American Experience is a very patriotic, moving lesson starting with the earliest Americans to present day, highlighting the struggles and triumphs of each generation. It is NOT to be missed. Mark Twain and Ben Franklin are the hosts.
Ditto! :thumbsup2 And a BIG ditto on the Voices of Liberty. They are vocal perfection. :worship:

Saw this show once because it was recommended so highly. It was boring and it will be a long time before I do it again...

I agree. We went to see it, because everyone says it is so good. We were disappointed. We like Hall of Presidents much better.

I find "The American Adventure" to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I believe it has the first "walking" animatronic - Ben Franklin.

I love this show. Last Nov dh and I did the 8 hr behind the scenes tour and we went into the backstage area. We were within 5 feet of Ben frankin and Mark Twain. It was wonderful.

DH and my dd's don't like the show as much as I do. When we went in August 03, George Washington malfunctioned and collapsed over his desk. The lights came up and we were asked to leave. As we walked out dd's were chanting "George Washington fell over". The CM was not amused.

I absolutely love this show- my mom and I have to do it every time we go. The first time I saw it was when I was only 2 years old and have been hooked ever since!

I always get choked up at the Civil War song and the montage at the end :goodvibes
