American Airlines or Song?

We've been flying Song for the last few years and have been very satisfied with the planes and service.

I've been checking airfare for our cruise next summer and as of right now, AA and Song have identical fares; $747 for 4 of us, non-stop, round trip, from Boston to Orlando.

How is AA? There is supposed to be a big change with Song in the spring, so that's why I'm contemplating switching to AA.

Any opinions??

Thanks :flower:

AA is a very good airline in my opinion. Never had any big problems with them. Their aircraft are usually pretty new and their staff has allways been kind.

We used to fly Delta to MCO until they started up Song. We hated Song's seating and switched to AA. MUCH better leg room and we found a much better flying experience all around (re: on time and the aforementioned seating room). Though we fly out of LaGuardia in NY so YMMV. :moped:

AA seems to be the last of the major airlines to have managed to make it through without basically ripping their service model apart.

Song will be non-existant next summer. As of May, 2006 they will be rolled up in to Delta. Having said that, I do know that they are booking "Song" flights past
May, 2006 but chances are your flight will encounter a schedule change, plane change, or be eliminated all together. If you like stability and less disruption for this timeframe I would stick with AA. ;)

:bounce: I always loved Song because of the inflight entertainment it always kept everyone ocuppied but i have moved to northwest arkansas where there is only a small regional airport that flys 50 seaters except for AA. in 2006 song will still be in opperation but will have added first class to the front of the plane and will have a larger fleet and will have given song almost all of there domestic routes. By 2010 when delta and song will have merged into a delta song Delta will be history. I like AA a lot but for right now i would stick with song.

Actually AA has eliminated one of its two BOS-MCO non-stops in the past month, while Delta/Song have increased their schedule, as has jetBlue. I don't think I'd take the chance that American gets out of the route and shoves you over to a connector; I'd stick with Delta or jetBlue. By mid-summer Delta will have just begun the changeover from Song to regular Delta, so I'd imagine that you would have a pretty good chance of ending up on one of the great Song style planes.

But if you want a guaranteed grat flight, then go for jetBlue, where you will be assured of individual entertainment centers at all of the seats; plus toward the rear of the plane, there is more legroom than Delta, Song or American.
