Has anyone flown on American from O'hare to MCO lately? I want to know if they show a movie or not. I know it's a dumb question, but I like to know if I have to pack things to keep the kids entertained on the plane. I called American and got no where. Anybody?? :confused3

American's flights between Chicago-O'Hare and Orlando International are operated on MD80 aircraft. American does not have any in-flight entertainment on MD80 equipment. So, no movie. No reruns of "Everybody Loves Raymond." Not even audio.

Many rows on the American's MD80 aircraft are equipped with seat power outlets ("powerports"), which provide 12-15V DC through cigarette lighter type receptacles. If you have a personal DVD player with headphones and a cigarette lighter adapter, you can bring your own movies. See http://www.aa.com/content/travelInformation/duringFlight/onboardTechnology.jhtml for details.

Thanks for the information! I'll bring the portable DVD player for the kids!
On the assumption that your aircraft is an MD80, you can check the following link to see if your row has powerports: http://www.aa.com/content/aboutUs/ourPlanes/boeingMD80StandardSeating.jhtml

If their are no powerports in your row, change your seats.

You might also want to double check on AA.com (or call AA) to make sure your particular flight really is an MD80.

We have a portable DVD player with a cigarette lighter adapter and two headphones. It's been great having it for long flights.

Enjoy your flight!

We flew American ORD to MCO in June on a Super (or as our flight attendant called it--Stupid) 80. No inflight entertainment except for the usual goofy tourists (mainly, my family :teeth: )
