Any ideas? I've figured that we need to purchase between Dallas and Orlando. But past that I'm a little confused. Has anyone purchased / attempted to eat it :lmao: I have no idea about what to expect. I've done some googling and I find a lot about Business and First, but nothing on economy.

For all of our internal flights we ate at the airports. The food selection was pretty good. We took some nibbles on board. For most of our flights we were given a drink and some packets of snacks. On one flight they kept giving us packs of snacks, things like Jatz (not sure what they;re called), chips ahoy, and some crackers with a sweet cheese filling ( I liked them everyone else wasn't so keen).

DFW has a large range of food outlets / bars / shops airside so you can choose what you'd like whilst in transit.
the choice on the plane is pretty weak. Prepackaged products like chips and nuts and cookies. I think I had a mediocre cheese/cracker box that cost about $5. They won't do any meal type servings on this short flight. They also have a standard drinks cart - soft drinks and coffee

I always buy food at the terminal/gate and take it on-board to eat. Salads and sandwiches are always more appertizing than on board food. We even get the cheese and biscuits at the food outlets as a snack.

You'll find that most of the people that travel frequently will also be buying food at the food outlets. Allow extra time to get into the terminal and get your food before boarding.

I don't think the AA menu has changed in the past 10 years. From memory there are snack options like Lays chips, cookies, trail mix and some horrible little snack box with processed cheese, meat and crackers. The sandwich choice if "meals" are available was pretty limited I remember a chicken wrap or something like that, but nothing exciting.
In the past we've had a meal at the airport prior to boarding or between flights. As someone said earlier you can purchase something and take onboard.

I would also eat at the terminal before boarding, but remember its only a 2 hour 20 minute flight, after the long haul from Sydney to Dallas it will be over before you know it!

We flew from LAX to JFK on AA, it was a "red eye" flight that left late and arrived before dawn (ugh - but I saved on 1 night's accomodation!!)

There were some pretzels and a soft drink or juice that were free, but everything else cost $. We had eaten at the airport and had also grabbed a few things for the flight......Raisinettes! :worship::worship:

I think that it's much easier to pick up something in the terminal that you know that you will eat rather than having to pull out your credit card on the plane for something pretty dodgy - they would NOT take cash.

Just remember to get your drinks after you go through security, otherwise it's goodbye water (yes I am a blonde!!)
