This sounds like it could be not only for Indiana but Illinois and Michigan too.
Indiana Amber Alert
Police in northwest Indiana issued an Amber Alert this afternoon after witnesses saw an adult place two children in the trunk of his car. The Schererville Police Department issued the alert at 12:39 p.m EST. after receiving reports that a white male in his 30s placed a white female in the trunk of a two-door Toyota. Witnesses said the blonde-haired girl, dressed in a pink outfit, cried, "No, daddy!" as the man put her in the trunk and drove off. The boy had already been placed in the trunk, witnesses said.
The two children are estimated to be between 7 and 8 years old. They were last seen at the intersection of US 30 and US 41 in Schererville, but police say they have no leads as to where the vehicle was headed. Schererville, a Lake County community, is about five miles south of Hammond.
No additional details were available this afternoon. The Amber Alert is a mass-notification system used to report child abductions. The Indiana State Police and local law enforcement agencies issue the alert if the victim is under the age of 18 and is believed to be in danger of serious bodily harm.
Indiana's Amber Alert Web site (www.amberalertindiana.com) listed no other active or past alerts for the state.
