Has anyone tried using this at the Fort? I am thinking it might be a good option rather than sending my husband out into the real world for whatever we realize we forgot.

I have not, but I believe they are now charging a fee ("convenience"?) for receiving packages. I think it's $5 per parcel.

Receiving Mail
Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels can receive mail throughout their stay. Occasionally, some Guests choose to ship items in advance of their vacation to help save luggage space.

If you intend to receive mail during your vacation, be sure the letter or package:

  • Includes the mailing address of your Disney Resort Hotel
  • Clearly features the word “Guest” on the front and the date of your arrival
Please note that a $5 per package handling fee will apply to all packages that are received through the Front Desk or are delivered to your Disney Resort hotel room.

Haven't stayed at the Fort, but Prime Now is exempt from the $5 per box fee, much like GardenGrocer, because it is delivered directly to Bell Services.

I've used Prime Now at other resorts and love it, due to the two hour delivery window. No more guessing on how much water we will need and over ordering.

Having our rolling Beast with us at the fort, it is like a 2nd home, we stock the pantry for the time we are vacationing and well have never run out of food or beverages for sure.

We run as close as we want to on our tow weight so we are looking for ways to cut down on heavy stuff! Someday maybe we will have a rolling beast. I do love a well stocked pantry!

I left my watch charger at home and ordered a new one using my prime account (this was on one of last years trips), had no issues of any kind.

Hi pegg110. To clarify the $5 per package fee, is that at all resorts or just the conference center resorts thus FW would be exempt? Would like to know this myself if I need it. There was no charge for a padded envelope mailed to me in care of the Fort in 2014.

Supposed to be all resorts, it was implemented earlier this year.

Amazon Prime is charged the $5.00 fee, the only mail or packages exempt from the fee is USPS as it is against the law to charge a fee on top of theirs. So all resorts charge the fee unless it is from USPS

parrothead64 beat me to it. I don't use this service (as I have plenty of room to bring stuff with me in my Truck and TT), so I only have the forums and Disney site to go off of. I have heard from others that the Fort is now also charging this fee.

I suspect, like anything else, it depends on the CM you end up dealing with and how up to date on policies (or how nice they are), on whether or not you will be charged for it.

@Corgidad Are you sure about this? The reason I ask is that I see this similar to those services like Mailbox Etc. They charge for their service, one of which is to receive mail from USPS (or anyone really), on your behalf. I honestly don't know though because, as stated above, I don't use this service.

Just to clarify my package was sent via US Postal Service, would that still be charged?

morrik5, No USPS is the only service NOT charged the $5.00 fee all other carriers have the fee applied. Also due to the high number of packages the Fort receives they absolutely charge for every package that is not USPS no matter how nice the CM is.

peg110, 100% sure about the "handling fee' policy. And the Forts CM's are very knowledgeable on the policy.
