hi there

I have always used Garden Grocer for our trips.
I wanted to see if anyone has an opinion about Amazon delivery.
Any pros and cons?
Thank you in advance. :flower1:

I used them last August as well as this past spring break trip.

Last August I had 2 Prime Pantry boxes plus one regular Amazon Prime box sent to Pop Century. That afternoon, they delivered it to the room while we were out. I had left a note and a tip for the runner delivering it, but he/she instead left a note saying to have a nice day and didn't take the tip.

I had a Prime Pantry box sent to AKL and they also brought it to the room. I wasn't there but DH promptly unpacked it all.

Pros: the prices for many items are even cheaper than I pay at our local grocery store. They carry many items not listed that GG carries. They are way CHEAPER than GG on almost anything. They deliver some beverages (but watch how the box fills up). Got 6 quarts of Almond Milk for like $10. I forget but it was cheap. DH drinks the stuff - Me, I prefer regular or soy but he's so dang picky! DS is dairy allergic to it's all good.

Cons: no fresh fruit, produce, dairy of any sort, no meat, cheese,

But, GG will deliver WINE and BEER. Alas, they stopped delivering vodka. Sigh.

If you fill 3 Amazon Pantry boxes, GG is less for delivery. One thing I didn't know until it was almost too late, if you are staying at one of the convention hotels, and your boxes arrive early, there is a $10 storage fee. We wanted our snacks and water when we arrived b/c we were heading straight to the park after dropping bags, so GG made most sense. Our experience with them was so good, we are going to use them again, even if it's a few dollars extra. Worth it for the piece of mind.

I've used Prime Pantry on our last two trips. It's great. I've had no issues, and we've been at different resorts each time.

Does anyone know if Prime Now is available in the area? We have it in the city I live in, and I would love to do that instead of Pantry for cold foods.

I had used my rebate from TopCashBack toward my Amazon Prime Pantry delivery, so it made sense for us. I liked that we didn't have to pack an extra suitcase for diapers, swim diapers and wipes! The good thing in our case, is that I asked for it to be delivered in advance of our trip, and the hotel had no problem holding it for our arrival - it was standard practice for them.

Do you just address it to your name and resort?

Yes - there is a sticky about shipping to the resort.

I got lucky - I had $5.99 credits for each box and used free shipping codes with the "buy 5 get free shipping" deals (and it was stuff I wanted) so it was really inexpensive. Regular Prime is always free shipping for members. Often though, they run promos where if you choose regular shipping rather than 2 day shipping they will give you Prime Pantry credits. That's a great deal, since our things still arrive quickly!

What about using Amazon Prime Now instead? You can even get things like fruit delivered within 2 hours. I use it here in Houston quite frequently. I plan on using it during our Disney vacation as well.

THank you for posting this! I'm in Houston and I had no idea that this is an option. And certainly a wonderful one for Disney.
