I've received emails from them, as well as a large insert in the Sunday paper letting me know about their free shipping deal when you spend $25 or more. I spent a couple of hours going through the whole website, picking out gifts, including a DVD player for my sister and BIL. I also had some game boy games, a couple of Playstation 2 games and a Playstation 2 controller.

Well, I went through the whole order process, and right before I clicked Place this Order, I noticed that there were over $34 in shipping charges. As it turns out, there are some MAJOR restrictions on the free shipping. No electronics, gameboy games, video games, and a few other things. Pretty much the only thing it's good on is books and clothing (didn't even know they sold clothing!).

I just wish they would have told me up front that so much was excluded. None of it was a bargain once you figured in the high shipping charges. Oh well, there's a couple hours of my life I'll never have back.

Very frustrating to always have to read the fine print. Sorry you wasted a couple of hours.

I did this recently...problem is...the fine print isnt until after you start the order process...there is no way to know until this point.

I found this problem too. I ended up just going to Toys R Us because I was so frustrated with Amazon.com.

Amazon is getting pretty bad. I just went through an episode with them that took 2 months to untangle.

I suggest buy.com

Yes, I just had a problem too. You were supposed to buy 1 game, get a 2nd of equal or lesser value free... they then gave you some games to pick from that qualified and you had to enter a promo code when you ordered. Guess what? I never got my game. Who the &%$# knows why.

Every time I go to Amazon, I don't like it more and more. The rarely have stuff in stock (stuff I'd like). Ugh.

I recently purchased a DVD from amazon.com and I knew that my buddy was looking for the same title. I participated in the "Share the Love" program. He got an email inviting him to purchase the same item that I had. He got an additional 10% discount. This amounted to $1.12, but it was nonetheless a discount. In return, I was supposed to get a $1.12 credit at Amazon to spend as I like. In the subsequent weeks, I placed a couple orders with Amazon and was surprised that the credit hadn't shown up. I went back to the "Share the Love" page and found out that you are NOT notified when someone actually takes you up on the referral. Additionally, you have to click through a couple of menus in order to get the credit into your account. And you cannot apply the credit to any existing orders. And the credit is only good for 30 days. It was too late for me to cancel my pending orders and reorder with my $1.12 credit. And I have no plans on making any purchases before my credit expires. What a ripoff. Granted that it's only a buck, but it should have been my buck. :(

 I would be that way too.
