Amazing WalMart Shoppers....

I did find a little wry humor in the fact that the woman was on top of the DVD player as well!

The kicker is that I believe the DVD players were the Apex brand - MIL bought us one 2 years go - it was a huge piece of junk that didn't work - the sales associate said they were getting tons back with complaints - I coughed up some $$ and upgraded to a Phillips brand.

I also slept in until 10:00 on Friday!

Why are people so horrified about the way Walmart spokespeople were quoted? I think the horrifying part is the fact that shoppers trompled her. The same story could have happened at any store. It's a story of people caring more about getting their dvd player than the life of another human being. Sickening. It's sounds like the ONLY help they got was from Walmart employees.

I think we're all horrified about the insanity, that goes without saying.

But what springs immediately to mind, of course - is that she actually was ON TOP of the DVD player, and it didn't go for the ride in the ambulance with her. I think that's why folks are giving Wal-Mart a hard time on this thread.

Somebody send that woman a nice DVD player! I would, but I am not shopping at all this year. Baking only. And home made jelly.

I heard a very brief blurb on this over the weekend. Glad to have read the whole thing. Stories like this 1 make me soo glad that I'm lazy on Black Friday, and stay AWAY from the stores. Went shopping on saturday instead and found almost everything i needed at great prices. Yeah, there's a lot to be said for being lazy LOL.
As for WALMART, I'm not surprised at their statement, and from everything I've read about the store I think Sam Walton is in his grave nodding approval over it. Thanx, but no thanx. I'l take outlets any day of the week.

I actually read an extended article on this story..apparantly the woman had a seizure before she fell down (she had a recent history and had been to the hospital for it). The story also said that the paramedics had trouble controlling the crowd once they got there.

Absolutely ridiculous! I hate to think that this is the mentality of the average american.....

I can't stand Wal-Mart and this story just adds to my extreme dislike for it.
