Two great moments very early on -

One team IMO already cheated - getting the locals to carry their bags and help with the challenge.

Another team goes on about how they put their faith in the lord and they get lost - LOL!

Go Alison and Donny. IMO they are the clear favorites.

OK, so DH & I got the biggest kick out of these two. I mean, I think it is great that they have such faith, but I think it's funny that the guy made the decision to walk (did not let the girl put in her opinion), then said "the Lord will take care of us". Huh? I was always taught "God helps those who help themselves". Anyway, I thought that was a great moment, too.

While I don't like this team--Mirna and Charla?--I don't think that was really cheating. If they had asked the locals to help carry the meat, I would consider that cheating. But, I think they were OK in asking for help with the bags. They could have very well dropped thier bags somewhere and gone back to get them. They still would have completed the task. Anyone else have an opinion on this one?

I agree with you twice. 1) Don't like this team. 2) I didn't think they cheated either. They made sure that the guy helping them did not carry the meat at all, just their bags.

And if they had cheated they would have been told and given some kind of time penalty or told to retrace and do over (like the teams that didn't pick up the route marker)

LOL. Are you talking about the models/believers/beautiful people?

Don't you just love the titles they give each team. My favorite is the religious team from last year (or was it two seasons ago?) Anyway, every time they referred to them, they had to use the word "virgins". The virgins who have been dating a long time.

Then of course there was the "gay married couple". It couldn't be "Joe and Moe". No, it has to be the gay married couple.

I don't see how this isn't obvious, but about the bags... yes that's cheating. If they had to leave them somewhere in order to carry the meat, they would have to go back to get them. How is having somebody carry the bags for them not gaining an advantage? It would take time to retrieve bags left behind, not to mention making the task of carrying the meat easier, so there was an unfair advantage.

Basically, ask the other teams if they would like a way to rid themselves of the bag burden, and then ask if it would be fair if only half (or just one) of them got that advantage.

The teams have $$ - apparently the rules don't prohibit them from paying someone to carry their bags. (Specific legs of the race will tell them if they MUST take public transportation or maybe a cab is OK.)

I'm not sure how letting other people carry your things is fair either, but I'm sure the show would have given them a penalty like Sandy said earlier. Looking for more good stuff to happen tonight!

I'm not saying the show called it cheating. But I think it's fair to say the other teams didn't see the bags being carried, so the issue didn't come up. Maybe things would be different had one of the other teams saw what was going on (especially the ones sent home).

Think about how each of the teams basically had one person carrr the meat because the other was carrying the bags. Maybe they all have that option, but it isn't clear? Maybe it will not come up until somebody challenges it?

Hopefully they will be eliminated soon so we don't have to worry about that group anymore.

There are no rules against enlisting locals help as witnessed in past ARs when teams have enlisted drivers to lead their cab/car to their destination or begged for cash in airports. As long as they follow the directions, such as walking to a destination when so instructed versus taking a car or handling a detour without first getting the info, then it's okay. Don't forget, they have 24/7 obeservers with them at all times in the form of the camera crew, so if they do something illegal, I'm sure Phil will know about it.

It didn't specifically say that the other team member has to carry the bags...so I'm guessing they got off on a technicality on that one. The only thing spelled out was that they were to carry the beef to the carniceria.

Not defending this team, because I thought they were annoying when they started whining...
