Amazing Adventures of the 2013 Disney Moms Panel Search

That exact thing happened to me the first time they searched, I emailed and called everyone I knew at Disney trying to get it fixed, finally ended up just opening a new email account and submitting myself again. But that new email address wasn't linked to any previous vacation reservations so I'm sure that didn't help my chances. Needless to say all Disney vacations have been in my name ever since.

I didn't even think about that. DH usually does the ADR. I'm not sure the disney log in i used has ever been used for anything other than fantasy football.

I just answered the best I could and tried not to stress too much over the answers. Hopefully my love of WDW and DVC will come through.

I just applied- maybe I should have waited until I wasn't sick for the third day and had just spent three hours trying to calm A screaming 12 week old???? I don't even know if my essay made sense. I tried to be funny but it was 100 words. I went for wdw specialty since I've never taken a vacation to Disneyland....but I'm a local! Now I'm second guessing myself. I've been to Disneyland over 2,000 times ( I finally stopped counting)


There's always next year. I told my husband to apply since he speaks spanish and loves Disney too.

Hey all! I've been a little absent these past couple weeks, but am back to join the waiting room with you all! I submitted my application for the Disneyland panelist and feel pretty good about my answers. At least, I didn't stress about them nearly as much as I have in past years!

I saw someone asked us to post the specialty questions from page 2 and since I haven't seen any other Disneylanders, here they are:

1. What are the five newest attractions at Disney California Adventure Park? (Options were Radiator Springs Racers, World of Color, Finding Nemo Submarines, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Little Mermaid, Luigi's Flying Tires, California Screamin', Red Car Trolley and Toy Story Mania)

2. My favorite hotel at the Disneyland Resort has a special feature. Select the feature below with the correct hotel where it's located. (This one had about 8 options with different hotel and things like restaurant names - so like "Napa Rose - Grand Californian". Some options were the correct pairing, some were not)

3. What is the name of the man who has made Carnation Cafe so special for decades? Hint: he has a dish on the menu named after him. (multiple choice)

4. Who helped open Disneyland Resort to the public as one of the official hosts? (Multiple choice)

5. What county does Disneyland Resort call home? (multiple choice)

6. In 100 words or less, describe the best multi-day vacation you've taken at the Disneyland Resort, including where you stayed overnight. If you haven't had a multi-day vacation to Disneyland Resort tell us what you would do if you were to plan one.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop in to spread some Pixie Dust and wish all of you the very best on this adventure!

Be yourselves, enjoy the journey, and let your love for Disney shine through! That sounds trite, I know, knowing that many of you have heard it many times before. But, I do want to sincerely encourage you to hang in there! We ALL love Disney - otherwise we wouldn't be on here freaking out about this - and YES, I'm freaking out for you! I remember - it's a nerve-wracking process. That's why I want to remind you to "enjoy the journey."

All that said, I have to say, becoming a member of the WDWMP is one of the most special things I've ever had the privilege of doing...it has been a blessing to represent The Disney Company in some way, and to spread the magic to so many people as they plan their first or fiftieth, or maybe even their "once in a lifetime" vacation to WDW! It's an amazing feeling! But, there is so much more to it - it's a "family" - a fun one! A caring one. A REAL one! And we look forward to welcoming the 2013 WDWMP aboard!

If you don't make it, don't get down on yourself, and don't get down on Disney. If I've learned ANYTHING since becoming a part of this, it's that the "Disney Family" extends way beyond anythinig we could have ever imagined! It really is true, "If you can dream it, you can do it!" So many amazing, optimistic, hopeful people who love Disney, just like you, are out there, "doing their Disney thing," and doing a tremendous job at it, I must say, EVERY SINGLE DAY! Just the fact that you are applying for this shows that you are already a part of this family!

And, with that...I will pop on out, leaving a trail of Pixie Dust for you!!! Keep me in the loop!

Well I'm in for another year. However, I'm going to keep my approach the same as last year where I will try to forget/ignore the whole thing while waiting for news on the next round. It made last years news about getting to round 2 quite a nice surprise because I had put it out of my head.

Anyway, good luck to everyone. Personally I'm hopefully they will find room for a Disneyland Dad this year but I'm sure whoever makes it will do just fine.

5th time applying, oh for four so far out of the starting blocks. I blame it on my keyboard, that and my complete lack of writing talent, but mostly my keyboard.

On the upside, everyone can rest easy knowing that they now only have to beat 13,998 people!

Don't get discouraged! Some people make the panel their first time applying. However, many of the current Moms tried for a few years before they finally made it on to the panel. I wasn't sure if I would apply again (I made it to Round 2 two years ago and last year I made it to Round 3). It was definitely hard last year after getting so close, but being a panelist is a dream of mine. So, I just keep trying.

Last year it was 3 essays and a 60 second video.

Thank you. The essays don't scare me, but the video does. I'm thinking about getting a smart teenager to help me with it, if I get that far .

Hi everyone I have applied too. I made it to round 3 last year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can make it all the way this year! I hate the waiting between rounds and constantly second guess myself.

This is so fun to see the messages from current moms and each of us sharing our journey. This is my third try. I made it to the 2nd round the first year and only the first last year. I am so excited to try again and submitted yesterday. Frankly, I am even more excited that I am going to be there in less than a month. It will be just my sister and I for a food & wine fest trip. And oh yea, she has a conference too that will keep her busy in the mornings. Any excuse to go the world is a good one! Good luck to all in this journey.

I'm not super DISboards "savvy", but I would love to compile the list of the applicants! It's becoming like a "reunion" every September! I think only the thread starter can edit the first post of the thread, so the list will be on Page 34 (or further back), if no one minds.

How should we do this? Should people PM me with their info? DIS name, first name, specialty category and where they're from? What else do we need to know???

Hmmmm... I started the thread. I don't mind being in on the list compilation too, but I am not so board savvy either. I can post & quote. That is about all. I can certainly add a compiled list to the first thread anytime.

I know that the mom who organized our Fish Exchange for our Alaskan Cruise just used Google Docs to input names/DisBoard Handles. She gave us the link, and we inputed the info ourselves, that way her work was minimal.
